Staff were too busy talking with each other to show concern about customers or the quality of the food or service. We'd would have preferred to order at the counter but when we stood there the staff would look at us and continue talking to each other ignoring us. So we went to the kiosk and ordered. After we placed our order the receipt paper was not fed properly so the receipt did not come out. When the order was done they yelled our number and placed the trays on the counter and walked away. I had to stand there awhile to get their attention to let them know we did not receive our drink cups or hot chocolate. They handed us our drink cups and walked away. I had to catch another staff member to ask about the hot chocolate we already ordered and paid for. They then told me if we wanted it would be a 16 minute wait but offered no other options to rectify the situation. I asked if we could have a Fanta. She did not say yes or no when one of the other staff members walked by and placed the Fanta flavor of their choice on the counter. The fries were cold and the fish sandwich tasted like it had been sitting. The cheese was not melted showing it had not been placed on a hot fish patty. The chicken sandwich was awful the sandwich was half dressed. The food tasted like they made it hours before we ordered it. When we went to get our drinks, there was no ice tea filled. Plain and simple no one seemed to care. I have ate at McDonald's all my life and it is no longer the quality fast food service...

And I have worked at McDonald's and so has my daughter Caitlin, who is a retired Navy Veteran now:) I've been to every state in our great country. It does my heart good to see a crew of mostly 16 year old young adults working hard and doing the right thing. And who knows GREAT fast food better? Yet...I found a hair in my mcdouble:( when I spoke to the manager she told me she'd send me coupons. I told her I'd walk up and get them. When I did she tried to just replace it! I told her absolutely not!!! I showed my receipt and she refunded me $3.00. just to be clear I was spending about $100 a week there because it's closest to my hotel. Now sadly because of the hair. The mcmuffins are harder, the hash browns are oilier, but that's why I love this beloved institution. While some chains may assimilate local culture through culinary fusion, only the golden arches is bold enough to vary user experience. Reflection of culture through ingredients is shallow when compared to what people can see in themselves and their fellow peers when having a truly poor dining experience. Nothing so aptly captures a nation's culture as waiting longer for fast food than sit down, half incomplete orders, and dashed hopes of dessert. This is my home. While some may come for the food, I come for the experience.
