I am extremely disappointed and displeased, I feel harassed by this staff member “Tim” 3rd shift desk clerk. I had an issue last time here when I sent my 16yr old down to charge eye drops to my room for my youngest as it was an emergency since he was having eye problems due to the high levels of chlorine in the pool, so I sent my oldest to get them for me, as I was trying to rinse and soothe the eyes of my youngest child from the irritation and pain. So I sent my oldest for me but instead of calling my room to confirm, he sent my son away and told him he couldn’t charge anything to my room, so that I was inconvenienced and had to leave my youngest and go get them myself, this is unacceptable as It was from the chlorine in their pool that lead to the irritation and discomfort of my child in the first place..
On our current visit, I got a suite at over 200$ for one night, just to get away for the evening and have a relaxing night, and now there is another issue, my year 16 year old and youngest went to the pool, they came up at exactly 10:51.
At 11:02 my children barge in to my room, panicked, to tell me there is a man outside our door!!!! mind you, my children are not yelling, or screaming but taking turns in the bathroom getting dressed, I’m laying in bed on the phone talking with a friend, but they are children, so they are not silent, they are talking and such but nothing extraordinary. I hear some knocking but assumed it was my children, from my room I told them to quit knocking and messing around, but then they barge through my door to let me know there’s a man at my door, I’m a bit freaked out and bewildered. I get up and see it’s staff, so i open the door, he proceeds to tell me he’s been at my door for 15 mins listening and that my children are slamming doors and and yelling and screaming!
Right away I’m defensive, as my children have just arrived back from the pool, and haven’t been back long enough to even be a nuisance on the worst day. I remember him from the previous encounter with the eyedrops. He proceeds to say they are being loud and he will call the cops if we “don’t keep it down” mind you again they have only been back from the pool for 10 mins and getting dressed and settling in. I’m floored!! He assumed that whatever complaints he received where from my room, but that can’t be as my children would have had to have been in my room before he showed up.
Im a respectful and courteous person as are my children, they are homeschooled and trained with wholesome core values and taught to be respectful and responsible, I also work for the state!, I’m not some degenerate that would cause or let my children cause problems. So as a mother of three with a very demanding job, a night away is a necessity at times, between these two visits in the last month and a half Ive spent about a thousand dollars at this establishment, and have only had issues with this man. He’s disrespectful and rude without having all the facts, when I tried to inform his that there are other children and people on this floor that may have been the issue, he dismissed it.
my children made me aware of other children that were running in the halls earlier when they went to the pool, and that they saw him standing an leaning against the wall at the end of the hall by the window when they arrived to our room from the pool, my youngest said he thought that he was a guest here too.
Due to this, the first thing my middle child says to me after the staff member finally leaves was how he felt unsafe due to him saying he “would be back periodically to check” then my youngest said he was to scared to sleep in the other room because of the encounter with this man coming to our room unannounced! A phone call to my room would have been a better first approach if there were issues, in my opinion. I would like to have the general manager respond or reach out as this is unacceptable, To have him harass my family in this manner and threaten with police from our very first encounter...
Read moreOkay, I have a lot to unpack in this review. I hate giving bad reviews because I know it can mess a lot of things up for companies overview and image. Though this takes the last straw to my patience and more. I first stayed here about a year ago and the staff was super friendly and accommodating. Stayed again a couple months later and got home and started getting bite marks. Got inspected found out my house has a small bed bug infestation. I chalked it up the the used furniture I bought and did treatment and continued it to the point I was bug free for a good three months. Then I stayed again. This time I had brought back two suitcases and a couple book bags and I got slammed with bugs again. Once again I did treatment after treatment, moved and treated my stuff before and after setting up my new house. Everything came back clear. Now back to a week ago I stayed with my husband and a friend. Not only did we find a bed bug in my friends stuff with no evidence of bugs at my new home but the staff took a huge nose dive in service. The larger girl and a African American ladies started our check in. My friend is a IHG employee in Ohio mind you. We are told that we cannot check in due to a credit card issue for the incidentals and the name not matching from id to card to reservation. Tried to get an authorization form. Was told they don't do that anymore. then one of the ladies turned around and took my husbands card even though he didn't have his ID on him and signed him in as a company card. We were talked to in a belittling snotty tone and was stared at like we were disgusting. Mind you we are alternative yes but obviously cleaned, dressed well and were not being obnoxious etc. We just wanted to get into our room and make it to the pool/spa. After we got to our room (which was not handicap accessible as asked for and honestly needed) we got changed and headed to the pool/spa. We got in and not even 10 minutes later the on front desk lady came in and walked straight over and took a huge container of water out from the spa that we had been in for only a couple minutes. She stopped and stared at us degradingly and then went into the back closet/chemical inspection closet and then came out and told us we had to get out because the spa was dirty and needed to close it. I haven't felt so embarrassed at a hotel like this ever. They made me feel uncomfortable almost unsafe and like i wasn't welcome even though I am a platinum member. So all in all, this property seems to be going down hill fast, I didn't even stay the whole nights stay because of the treatment then the bed bugs which I have to pay to treat AGAIN and as I went through reviews I learned I am not the only one who found bed bugs or delt with rude staff. I suggest finding a different location in the Quad Cities/Moline because my guess is unless you are lucky and don't get a bugged/stained room you might get staff who makes you feel like being alternative/trans/lgbt/and/or handicapped is gross or unwelcome. Read moreI'm sad to say that my most recent stay was the worst. I stayed with my two transgender partners and every time we would go out for a smoke or come down to look at stuff in the marketplace we were always giving the side eye. I booked this for my birthday and my parents were willing to pay for it when I gave the front desk clerk my card they told me they couldn't except the card without proper ID I asked if they would send a authorization form to my parents so that they could fill it out and I could go about my night they tell me now I had no way to pay for the incidentals which is what we were trying to pay for they ended up letting my partner pay for it without his ID which I found weird but didn't complain. We ended up enjoying ourselves in the hot tub for a while only to be told we had to leave about 2 hours before the pool itself closed because of chemical issues. Around 1 maybe 2:00 a.m. I went downstairs to try to get a pillow so that I could sleep on the couch since my two partners were having a rough sleep nobody was down there and I kept calling out and was told later that the guy was unfortunately in the bathroom I told him that check out it was no big deal we ended up leaving at 4:00 in the morning when we got home we checked our stuff only to find bed bugs I don't think I'll be staying at this property again,I ended up going and giving this property another chance with the same partners.....we were treated worse ,which I didn't think they could do....they are not LGBT+ friendly and I am very disappointed in this...
