This Isn’t The Place To Go! HIGHLY DO NOT RECOMMEND!! I went for taco Tuesday and we where the only people there. Seemed like nobody showed up at all that day which is weird for a Mexican restaurant on a Tuesday. I wish I took a photo of the kitchen, it all looked like it has been sitting there for a days. The food had crust forming on the top, luckily they picked from the bottom of the container before serving us.
The customer service was absolutely awful. There was only one English speaking employee who was sitting on the computer for a while before helping us. He had a pretty hostile attitude. My fiancé asked for the verde sauce on her enchilada but they gave her red sauce instead. They also microwaved her food right in front of us with zero shame. I ordered the taco dinner that was supposed to be a dollar off each taco but they charged me full price. Speaking of pricing, Google says one $ sign but should be more like $$. They gave us a small chips and guacamole but charged me for a large. Every thing was very sketchy and seems they have zero respect for customers.
The food was not great at all and well over priced. Food definitely isn’t their priority and that’s crazy for a restaurant. Don’t come here. From what I remember what you see in this picture, I was charged about $47. Too expensive, and not to mention how sick I was after the food.
SERIOUSLY DO...
Read moreCame in for brunch last Sunday with a friend who is vegan. We both had the huevos rancheros - vegan version. It uses Just Egg and a meat substitute sausage. Both of us were very pleased with our food. It's served on tortas instead of corn tortillas, which I expected, but hey it was good and it's not my restaurant. My coffee was also great, which made me happy. It's Collectivo (there's that whole issue where Collectivo tried to prevent their employees from unionizing, but not what we're here to talk about). Other non-food things: It was not crowded, SO NICE to have brunch without the insane crowds of downtown and near eastside. Ordering is confusing - you go to a counter, look at a menu on the wall, then order. You selfserve most beverages and go sit down. Someone brings your food to you. When you're done you go back to pay. I guess I'd rather just pay after I order so I don't have to stand in line twice (?) anyway. not a big deal. Planning to do a big to go order for a family dinner soon, and looking forward to it. The people working...
Read moreTried twice now, once in person and once take out. Meats were decent, but something in the tacos doesn't 'pop' with flavor like I've come to expect from great Mexican cuisine, so I would not judge them as the best tacos in town... and my point of reference es comida de la calle en "El Jefe", ciudad de México. Ingredients were high quality and service was good. I was personally disappointed that the hottest salsa barely registered as mild for me... Unless perhaps they were mislabeled... but I doubt it given that there was little heat on both visits. That said, if you have a typical Midwestern palette and don't like too much flavor or too much heat, you might love the toned-down flavors you will find here. Also sampled two desserts. Chocolate cake was nothing special, but the coconut cake was a winner-- like a macaroon in cake form. A great option for coconut lovers. The desserts were small for cost/quality however. Overall I like the high quality ingredients concept, but the execution just didn't...
