Hole-in-the-wall small town kitchen that is a tremendous find. We picked this place because we were driving late, and most places would be closing right about the time we would reach the next big town, so we needed a closer stop, and B&K had good reviews. Diane had the smothered chicken (lightly battered and fried with cream gravy) with mashed potatoes and green beans. The chicken was perfectly cooked, juicy, and tender. The green beans with bacon were a very tasty addition. The mashed potatoes were seasoned well and very enjoyable I had the three piece chicken, mashed potatoes with gravy and corn. I actually ordered the two piece and an extra thigh because I don't care for the dry white meat but the kitchen made a mistake and gave me the breast and since they are fried to order, I didn't want to wait to cook another thigh. All the reviews about the good fried chicken were wrong. It's awesome! The breading is so thin it's almost non-existent, but there is just the right amount to keep the skin crispy and hold tremendous flavor. The skin was so crispy it was like it was broasted instead of fried. The meat was juicy and tender, and I even enjoyed the white meat of the breast. I love fried chicken, and this is some of the best. Perri, our server, talked me into the extra seasoning, and I was not disappointed. Just enough spices to add a small kick to the taste but not make it hot. Perri was friendly, professional, and helpful doing a great job of service. This is a small place with just a few tables. We stopped in because the family restaurant in town was closed. First time there and will be the last time. The food and portion sizes were a joke. Waitress was overworked and they were understaffed. I had a taco salad and was waiting waiting for the waitress to come back to ask how things were and that never happened. I would be probably exaggerating if I said I had 1 cup of tossed salad. I got both beef and chicken, thankfully because that's all there really was. The edible shell bowl felt more like leather I could not even cut it with the knife. I left hungry. Waitress never came back after bringing food. In fact we had to walk to the register, I waited about 10 minutes for someone to even recognize me when the Waitress showed up with the order sheet. I could have just walked out, however Regardless of how terrible it was I was s going to pay for the 4 things we ordered. My wife got cheesy bacon fries. Lol 25 crinkle cut fries and white cheese spattered on the fries with imitation bacon bits tossed on the plate.. there wasn't even enough cheese to hold the imitation bits to the fries. Obviously we were not the only disappointed people as well a gentleman and his wife were waiting at the register as well to leave and said they had a terrible meal. Appears the owners a hands off based on other reviews we found after the fact on Facebook. Alot of disappointed people and the owners don't even respond to help correct there flaws. They won't last long regardless of how well there fried chicken is.. or maybe they will change there name to KFC or something...

First time experience it was different. Let's start by saying the building is a little confusing with the Bathrooms. I was pretty shocked i have been in many restaurants but the bathroom was extremely clean. The building is split in two, but looks like it needs sum updating done. Paint is peeling a bit inside. Now to the food, the chicken was pretty good. I don't like the fact you don't have the choice to choose if you want a thigh,leg, breast, or wing when you order a 2pc, or 4 pc on the meals. The chicken was a little soft for my liking, I would say it was a bit more crisper it would be sum of the best chicken I have eaten. I can understand why this restaurants is known for the season on the chicken, my taste buds were happy! Mashed potatoes with brown and sweet potatoes was amazing. Great job! My tongue was dancing in my mouth behind those item's! Server needs to smile more be a little more friendly, but this is comfort food for sure. So give my regards to the cooks in the kitchen. Keep up the good work! I can see this being a place I stop at every time I'm in town. Just need a few...
