This place was recommended by friends so I had high expectations.
I called this place on a Thursday and asked how much the lunch buffet was. They said $12.50. When I went to pay on this Friday my bill was $17.95. The lunch buffet is higher on Friday. 🙄
This place has a lot of stuff on the buffet. More than most Indian buffets I've been to. Some dishes even seemed like Indian knockoffs of Chinese food But I didn't think the food was as good as other Indian places I've been. The Tandoori Chicken and Naan were subpar. These are usually items that are done well in most places. The butter chicken was ok but could have been better. I didn't really find a standout dish on my visit and I tried most of them. I definitely ate a lot of spice because I was sweating before I was finished eating. 🥵
I always enjoy getting to try new places but I didn't feel this was worth $18 on a Friday. $12.50 Mon-Thurs might be ok. Would I go back, I would try again to see if my first experience was a fluke but I wasn't impressed. It wasn't terrible, it just...

I am a young black American from Atlanta Georgia and this is one of the first places that my boss took me to eat when I moved to Monroe for a project. This place has food that is amazing as all the food in Louisiana seems to be — this is no exception. The staff was fast and friendly and very respectful. The place has of course the curry Indian smell but it also has an authentic store inside so of course you would expect that. The best part to me was the coffee that I had both before and after my meal. It was really authentic ginger and cocoa coffee of some sort and it was just really soothing and the way it was served it was really soothing as well. I had to rate this place five stars because I did not taste anything that was not amazing and everything was brought out really timely and tasted really fresh. If you are a vegan this is a must try place there were a lot of vegan dishes and all of them tasted amazing. Good job “Taste of India”. Don’t...

New servers are much slower and it was clear that many guests were impatient with the new waitstaff.
However they were friendly and made sure we were taken care of and suggested delicious sides despite a mild language barrier.
Tonight we had the Goat Biryani and the Lamb Tikka Masala. Safe choices but the food was as wonderful as I remember especially the Lamb which was definitely higher quality than before.
Appetizers were the Mango Chicken and Fish Pakora. I almost always choose the Mango Chicken as it has almost a nostalgic taste and it was even more powerful this evening. The Fish Pakora was also delicious last time ive tried such a dish in Jackson it was greasy ans the fish was undercooked. Here however the fish was perfectly cooked and the clean taste paired wonderfully with the seasonings.
No dessert nor drinks.
5/5 a wonderful...
