My two adult kids and I went to the Tiki Bar outside by the pool and lake to watch the fireworks for the 4th of July, 2025. This is part of the Boat Club Restaurant in the Lodge hotel. There is only valet parking here, apparently, so be prepared to tip. The place looked beautiful and clean, though one of the lights in front of the front desk was very crooked, throwing off the good vibe. I am disabled so I enjoyed the valet parking and the elevator, those steps down to the Tiki Bar would have been too much for me. There is also a ramp next to the steps going from the hotel to the pool/tiki bar outside. The employees were very friendly and nice, until the end of the night then the waitress got super pushy and did not treat us right anymore, didn't even ask us if we wanted more drinks. Maybe her boss left? That wasn't cool. I guess they stopped serving food at 9, so we had to go to the bar and get food there ourselves. My kids enjoyed their food, but the French onion soup I got was the worst I have ever had in a restaurant. Was it whole wheat bread? It was all onion and tasted like just plain beef broth from the grocery store, it wasn't good. It was in a TINY paper bowl that was NOT worth $12!! I couldn't believe it! The drink I ordered was good, even had a fresh flower in it. The view is great and the bar itself was nice and relaxing. The music wasn't too loud. The trash was literally overflowing onto the ground, however, and the long white tiles were extremely slippery and dangerous when it started raining. Whoever chose those for an outside venue clearly wasn't thinking fully. Someone is going to seriously hurt themselves there if you don't change it. Overall, it was a nice experience because of the holiday atmosphere, when I ignored the negatives. The kid that was helping out at the bar was really sweet and is why this isn't a 3 star. He did what he could and was very polite ! :) I would like to come back, since we are locals, and give it another try when it isn't a major holiday.

Loved this place. The staff was lovely and professional. The environment was definitely classic lodge. There's indoor dining with large windows that over look the lake. The large fire places make for a warm dark ambiance. There's valet parking available or you can park across the street and walk over. We came for drinks one day and sat out on the patio overlooking the water. The gas fire pits helped to cut down some of the lake wind chill (we visited in May). We thought it was a cute place so we made dinner reservations. The food was some of the best we've had in the area. We enjoyed the elk meatballs and bone marrow for appetizers. The elk meatballs were delicious and paired well with the huckleberry sauce. (Definitely a heavy pour on the sauce but no ones complaining). And the bone marrow was served with locally made bread. Yum. For dinner we had the Chilean sea bass on a bed of summer squash risotto and lemon seasoned broccolini and the elk loin with parsnip and blackberries/huckleberries, fingerling potatoes and fried mushrooms. We couldn't recommend either of these dishes any more. Both were phenomenal. They blended well both in flavor and in texture. The portions were appropriate. For dessert we had the huckleberry-blueberry pie and this pandan creme brulee that were both out of this world. The pie has a beautiful flakey crust and the combination of blueberries and huckleberries was such a nice balance. It almost cut down on some of that overly sweet taste that some pies have. The new take on the creme brulee was mouth watering. It came with a key lime mouse that was dense and subtle. The toasted coconut flakes added a texture and sweetness that I didn't expect to love as much as I did. I almost had to be rolled out of the restaurant as I finished everything. Go. Eat the all the food. It's absolutely worth it. Our bill came out to $250 which I feel is entirely reasonable. That was with 2 appetizers, 2 entrees, 2 desserts and a total of 5 alcoholic beverages.

I’ve stayed at The Lodge at Whitefish Lake before, and I have to say, the hotel is fantastic—definitely one of my favorite places to stay in the area. If I recall correctly, the main restaurant is quite good too. However, my recent visit to the Tiki Bar by the pool with my cousin was a bit of a letdown. Not sure why the owners don't have a dedicated listing for the Tiki Bar, so that is why I am placing this review under their main dining option. The atmosphere and patio area of the Tiki Bar are quite pleasant, with plenty of umbrellas and a great view of the lake (though the bees looming around can be a bit of a bother). But unfortunately, the food left much to be desired, especially for the price. We started with a couple of appetizers: the guacamole and chips, and the Ceviche with shrimp and fried plantain chips. Both were okay but nothing special. The guacamole had no spice and was not presented well—it was just plopped on the plate, making it difficult to scoop. They really should have used a ramekin. The Ceviche was dry and lacked flavor; it too would have been better served in a ramekin with the juices, accompanied by plantain chips, rather than as a dry scoop on a chip. We also ordered two pizzas, which were just okay, but the dough and crust tasted like cheap bread. Speaking of bread, I ordered the Cubano, and it was a disappointment. The sandwich came on really gross and cheap bread, the meat was dry, there was only a single pickle, and overall, it was just boring. To top it off, when we were ready to leave, we asked for a pizza box to take the leftovers with us. Unfortunately, our server completely forgot, and never came back to clear the plates, which only attracted more bees. Overall, the dining experience was pretty mediocre and definitely not worth our hard-earned money. I hope they can make some improvements because the setting deserves better food and service.

We visited the tiki bar (located behind the restaurant, outdoors) this evening because of its beautiful view and location. When we arrived, we were told there would be about a 10-minute wait. They took our cell number and said they'd text us when the table was ready. We asked if we could sit in some nearby chairs while we waited, and they said yes.

After about 20 minutes, we noticed other guests walking up and being seated right away. We went back to the hostess stand to check, and they said they had texted us five minutes earlier. When we checked our phone, there was no message—turns out, they had taken down the wrong number. They knew exactly where we were sitting but didn’t come over to check in when we didn’t respond to the text.

Once their mistake was realized, we were seated, but then we sat for over 10 minutes without seeing a server. We noticed tables seated after us already being served. One of the servers may have overheard us wondering aloud if anyone was going to help us, because shortly after that, the staff at the bar started trying to figure out who was assigned to our table.

Eventually, the hostess returned with water—at that point it had been around 15 minutes. We asked who our server would be and when they might arrive. Finally, another server came over to take our order, though it was clear she wasn’t originally assigned to our table.

When we went to order, we were told they were out of lettuce, which meant a large portion of the (already quite limited) menu was unavailable. We went ahead and ordered anyway. When the food came, it was delivered fairly quickly. Most of the dishes were delicious—especially the sticky ribs pizza and the pulled pork sandwich. However, the chicken tenders were a real letdown. Given the restaurant’s reputation and pricing, we expected them to be made in-house. Instead, they seemed like basic frozen tenders—dry and flavorless.

When it came time for the bill, our server brought it over without asking if we’d like dessert. When we inquired, she informed us that they were out of dessert—even though the menu listed several options. There was no apology, just the bill.

All in all, it was an expensive night out with very disappointing service. The food was hit-and-miss, and the service felt disorganized and inattentive. Running out of lettuce and dessert on a limited menu—without informing guests up front—was frustrating. We expected much more from a restaurant of this caliber, and unfortunately, the experience didn’t live up to...
