Astro Burger — Restaurant in Montebello

I have frequented the locations in Los Angeles on Melrose and on Santa Monica, and have always had a pleasant and delicious experience.

Yesterday, my wife and I were on the eastside and we were in the mood for Astro Burger. We recalled that we had once eaten at a location in Montebello, and we decided to find it and go there. When we arrived there were 3 tables occupied, we ordered a BLT, Turkey sandwich, fries and ice tea. After 10 minutes, others started to arrive and order. Twenty minutes later, 4 orders had been served, (7 people) and we were still waiting for our food. I approached the female at the counter and asked if there was a problem with our order and she responded, as she gestured toward the grill, that our food was ready. I asked her to please serve our food or return our money, the cook and other server inquired as to my complaint (in spanish), she advised them. The cook laughed and said "give him his damn money" and the other server responded "I'm busy", both with a smile. I then advised them that I spoke spanish and that I would just prefer my food. I've been going to Astro Burger since I was a kid. My dad owned a bicycle shop across the street called Rudy's. I still remember the first time I had their pastrami sandwich. It was so delicious that I've been hooked ever since.

The pastrami is always thinly sliced and perfectly cooked. It's piled high on a toasted bun with melted Swiss cheese, sauerkraut, and Russian dressing. It's the perfect combination of flavors and textures. I always get a side of their fries, which are also delicious. They're crispy on the outside and soft on the inside.

The service at Astro Burger is always friendly and efficient. The staff is always happy to make recommendations and they always make sure that my food is cooked to perfection.

I used to be a regular at astro burger but recently after the pandemic this place has went down the drain. The food is still good but the new employees have turned this place to the worst. Waited 15min in the drive thru for someone to take my order and decided to go inside us if the long wait' so Went inside and they made me wait another 10 min even though there was no one in line and the place looked empty. The employees gave me an eye and proceeded doing what they where doing without letting me know they where gonna attend me. This last Time I just walked out.
