What a treasure the Pierre LaFond Market is. They offer a lot of specialty food items and a great wine selection. Their deli and menu items are wonderful. Some of the best frittata, so beautifully prepared with several options to choose from. Their produce section was smallish but adequate for what they are and of high quality and freshness. Their prices in the market are great especially for the to order food items. They also have a selection of home and kitchen items available for sale. And great customer service. There was plenty of outdoor seating as well. Tucked away in Montecito, in a quiet neighborhood. I only wished I had gotten a latte there as I am guessing if it was anything like their food, it would have been a real treat.

I was visiting some friends in Santa Barbara and we stopped by here for nice breakfast, sandwich and coffee. I really enjoyed their bagel and locks as well as a soy cappuccino. The staff were very efficient and so friendly. The store is well stocked and well organized. They have both fresh produce and packaged items. And my favorite part was the beautiful green space in front of the stores. My friends and their two young kids are easily able to relax and enjoy the sunshine while they have a nice meal and drinks. They also make fresh juices and I had a veggie and fruit juice made for me. I stopped by here on my way to the airport for a nice breakfast sandwich and coffee for my drive.

Been watching this once great market clearly slide into mediocrity as if no one that owns it actually cares. Looking at a bunch of produce they are selling as “Organic” but it’s clearly labeled as GMO produce. If you are going to sell me an organic avocado for 3.50 please pay enough attention to actually check if it’s organic. Also seeing “organic avocado Mayo” that’s prime ingredient is soybean oil? Market needs someone that cares to find their way back to owner. Also love being asked to tip the cashier for the effort of wringing up my wine bottles.

Would only be two and a half except for VERY helpful counter lady. Came to order lunch food for boat trip next day. Unfortunately they did not have roast beef as an option as my wife wanted (they did have tri tip steak but we had that previously for dinner). After switching to turkey the lovely woman behind the counter understood my “eat tomorrow” dilemma and offered to deconstruct the sandwich, placing all ingredients in individual containers/wrapping so as to try to preserve for next day. An excellent gesture. Too bad the baguette was already stale before she wrapped it. And for the money I thought meat quantity was small. I chose to attempt to buy items and make my own sandwich for the trip, buying a slab-no joke over half inch thick-of house made meatloaf and a burger bun to create my meal. Upon tasting the meatloaf, the predominant flavor was green peppers. Who puts green peppers in meatloaf? On top of that, the burger bun, like the baguette, was dry and stale. Fell apart while trying to eat the sandwich. Ended up using fork to finish the meatloaf. Having worked in grocery stores/delis for over three decades at all levels, I can also tell you that I know that none of the salads available in the cold case were fresh, or had even a stir within the previous twenty four hours. Veggies completely soaked up dressing in one, old translucent tomatoes in another, and shriveled up chick peas in another. I know slow business due to Covid can make producing fresh product problematic but someone needs to pay more attention here. Lastly, also purchased a peanut butter bar which just tasted like a melted peanut butter cup. Disappointing considering all the good reviews a read...

Second time eating at this market, this time the market was totally packed and unorganized, the employees were rude and acted like nobody was in there yet it was overflowing with customers. After I ordered my food, I waited for 30 minutes to have my sandwich come out wrong, once I got the attention of an employee after not leaving the counter and told them the issue with my sandwich they asked the cook and he said I ordered it wrong but he made it right. Not the best way to handle that, but they said they would re-make it as courtesy??? Then the sandwich came out after another 10 minute wait to now have the wrong bread than what was on the menu and on the first sandwich. When I asked about the bread they said they are out of the burger bread and this is all they have so that is how I have to eat it. I said this is not how I ordered the sandwich and the employee rudely took the sandwich out of my hand and said "well I can give you a refund if you want". At this point I was so over the entire interaction and being treated rudely by every single staff member I talked to, I ended up just walking out and found some better food down the street. Needless to say I will never be going back, and if I could give 0...
