The kayaking trip itself was fun. We did the Good ole days which is 10 miles, about 5 hours long. I was the only one that rented a kayak, my friends had their own. We had a vehicle for pick up parked at good old days, but we left the keys in our parked car at rendezvous because I was getting a shuttle back sincee I rented where my friends didn't. If you bring your own equipment and have a pick up and drop off vehicle, it would be fine, but don't rely on getting picked up in a reasonable amount of time from the shuttle. We called over 200 times and only got a busy signal(photos for proof below). We asked Good Ole Days bar to call, they too got a busy signal. We tried emailing, texting and Facebook messaging Rendezvous and still no response. We started calling at 4:41 & finally got a hold of rendezvous after 6 and the shuttle came at 6:17. We ended up calling for a spare key to the truck, so we could leave. We got a hold of rendezvous just before the spare kay arrived so we waited for the shuttle to pick up the kayak, because I was responsible for it. The driver didn't show any compassion or apologize when I explained we'd be calling so long. "Service can be bad out here." was his response. The driver took the kayak and I rode back with my friends for the other car. My opinion, go to the Mecan Outfitters instead. It may not end on Lake Puckaway, but it's less expensive and the shuttle is on a rotation so you're...
Read moreOn the 10th of July, my wife and I took a motorcycle ride over to Montello to the Rendezvous for a bite to eat for supper. We were on the early side, and the place was already hopping. We were seated right away, and I grabbed a Weedcutter Summer Wheat from their extensive microbrew selection. This is one of their homegrown offerings and compliments almost anything on the menu. My wife ordered Emily's Pannini, an artisan sandwich made at the Rendezvous, while I ordered the mushrooms Swiss burger. The food was fantastic. The burger was huge, and my wife's pannini had just the proper combination of ingredients to meld into a tasty treat. The place was extremely busy, and while the staff was running like crazy to keep up, the owners took that extra moment to stop and say hi, and check in how everything was tasting. When in the area, make sure to stop in and check this place out. With the addition of the on-site microbrew, this place is a definite destination spot in the Montello area. Thanks again for a great meal, we'll...
Read moreMy first visit to Rendezvous was wonderful. We were there on Friday afternoon a little before 4 pm, and there were a couple of others there at that time. We were told that the menu for Friday Eve was limited to seafood, basically, after four. We were there for fish fry, and it was very, very good. We did not depart hungry, and we were glad to have arrived early. Soon after four, the building was nearly full of customers eating seafood. It was fresh cooked, and the sides we're very well done, both slaw and potato salad. A choice of potato and bread rounded off the platter, with fish cooked to your preference. We actually ordered a dessert to go because we couldn't stuff it in at that time. The cart cake was worth it, a great treat to end the day. We will recommend this place to friends for a really good dining experience. BTW, the owners and staff were friendly and efficient, and topped off a 5...
