Mellow Mushroom Pike Road — Restaurant in Montgomery

The food we did get was good, but that's it. We didn't even get everything we ordered. It took about 20 minutes to get our drinks and then would be told after waiting they are out of ginger beer for the mules and was brought a blue moon instead of a Modelo. (Find out later we were charged for don Julio when asked for well tequila) We ordered our appetizer at the same time as our drinks which then took another 20 minutes to come out and then had to ask for it. After another long wait one of our pizzas came out along with another order of the appetizer. We stated we already received that and had a pizza. 20 minutes later we were then brought another wrong pizza. I understand being short staffed. I work in fine dining I run more than 7 tables at a time. This place is outrageously slow, manager is a no show, and throws new servers to the fishes. Get y'all's stuff together please because we have way more patience than most people, the fact we asked for a percentage off the ticket and spoke with our server about our frustrations. It then took her another few minutes to try to find her boss who then never came out to speak with us and only took $10 off the bill. Did not take the don Julio off the bill. Everyone was running like a chicken with their head cutoff with one party and 5 tables total in the whole restaurant. Training and organized...

The setting: not very busy, party of 9 on a Thursday night, sat immediately, outside (only table on the patio). Waited 20 minutes before someone came out and offered to get drinks for us, after tossing straws at us. Finally another server came to get app orders and food orders. Waited another 10 minutes to get half the drinks and another 30 before the rest of the drinks. Asked for plates when we got apps, those never came. Server waited 30 minutes before putting in our order. Finally got some of it, then more, then wrong things. Manager had a less than care attitude, barely any discount, no care in the world that it took an hour and 45 minutes from the time we sat to get food. We were there for 2 hours…for two medium pizzas, one small pizza, two calzones, a burger, and a child’s pizza - for reference. Won’t be back, cannot wait for this place to go out….should have been Taste or Midtown Pizza. Mellow mushroom has lack luster food, it’s just easy for PR locals. Just a tip for the new restaurant that will one day occupy this space - don’t hire the staff that works here. The food is ok, and easy…but your staff ensures people...

Used to be a favorite, but has steadily gone downhill. Waited over an hour for my pizza tonight. When it finally arrived, it was dry and crispy. So crispy that my wife looked over at me and said, “Was that your pizza?” This is not the first time we’ve had an issue here. In fact, when the manager came to talk to us about my pizza, he said, “So, we meet again.” He took the pizza off my bill, but I guess I expected better since we’ve been regulars for years and this manager knew it wasn’t our first complaint in the last few weeks. My wife is gluten free and we have been there twice when they were out of gluten free crust. The last time, they waited until my pizza was cooked before they let her know. She didn’t want to leave since they’d made my pizza, so she ordered a salad (not her favorite, especially when she thought a pizza was on the way). We have waited over an hour for our food more than once. Several times our order has been messed up, and we had to bring it to their attention.
