Had dinner there last night. Well worth it. Ribs were great! Wife had the chx salad. I should note that despite being 9pm and later this place was fairly busy! That's a very positive sign of both the food and owners commitment to business.
Both meals served on cafeteria trays was rather disappointing and unprofessional. Once removed the food quality was very acceptable. The ribs (4pc) very well prepared. Slaw, side, was some of the best. The corn muffin however stone cold. Probably better kept warm....odd.
The salad, mixed greens with chicken was HUGE. I mean crazy sized even for a guy's meal. My wife ate maybe 1/3 of it. Sadly, driving, it wasn't going home with us. Such a foolish waste of food. Offer two sizes if it needs to be that big. (It doesn't)
More odd; want to wash your hands? Ok. Go back outside and into the attached, yet not linked restrooms. Who designed this place??
Staff was very friendly. Place probably has the cleanest guest check holders in town. I know; we got to watch them being cleaned on/at the bar we sat at. Back of the house work should be just that; back of the house. Not congested workers at the corner of the bar with their personal belongings scattered on the table (in open seating) for everyone to see. A side room for what appears food prep is wide open and strange, didn't investigate.
Like another place in town, great intentions and food but lacking general common sense and functional design. Presentation matters folks.
Food: 4.5 star....
Read moredoug’s steak and barbecue smokehouse probably the worst place I’ve ever eaten at and I’m 17 years old worse than when I went backpacking last year worse than my freeze dried meals there was an ant in my fries. The fries were green. The coleslaw was the most sour thing you’ve ever tasted, the beans were burnt to bridle . The cornbread taste like chalk straight out of the ground. And the ribs They’re all right great grandma could’ve made better in the oven the mac & cheese wow never seen such soggy white noodles in my life. They were sour is all get out. ps we’re going to a gas station food to get better food at the gas station. Mom started crying after. Read moreThis was another amazing find! After being in Arches for a whole day, I really didn't feel like.driving back 45 minutes to eat in Monticello, but I am so glad we did. We had a group if 15 people, and walked it around 8:15 at night. They greeted us with smiles and had a giant setup for us. The service was awesome, all the servers helped each other and made sure we were taken care of. The food was great! I got some brisket nachos, the half plate and if I hadn't seen the full size nacho I would have swore it was full size. It was huge! The food was awesome. My in-laws ordered the chili and said it was amazing! My brother-in law and sister-in law ordered the pulled pork and said it was some of the best they had ever eaten. I highly recommend this place to anyone looking for soemthing to eat in...
