Jacque B's Kitchen & Cocktails — Restaurant in Montrose

This has been one of our go to takeout places for quite awhile, and we LOVE their burgers and love that it's locally owned. However, in the last couple of months the food has been so inconsistent. Sometimes we get a delicious burger, but lately it's more often we get an almost inedible burger. We do get them cooked medium, but the entire inside will be pink (which honestly doesn't really bother me). But, the outside will be so burnt/charred with an almost chemical like flavor. We can't really explain the flavor but it tastes horrible. We have had this affect at least 4 meals here in the last 2ish months. We want to keep eating here and we could bring the food back but we live a little out of town and it's just not worth it. We won't be coming back for awhile but hopefully we will try again in a few months and we will get enjoyable food again and I can delete this whole review and give a more...

Stopped in for lunch after going to a nearby Apple Orchard. Service was super nice, everyone from the bartenders to our server to the cooks said "Hello and Goodbye to us" I cannot remember the last time that happened.

We didn't have any drinks, so cannot comment there. But the food was pretty solid. My wife had a chicken sandwich that she shared with one of our daughters and it was pretty good. We also ordered some pretzel sticks and they weren't our favorite, they seemed like the frozen/baked kind.

My BBQ fries were really good, the pulled pork was tasty and every fry had toppings. Maybe there was a bit too much BBQ sauce on them. By far the best thing on the menu were the mashed potato balls. I would swear that these are made fresh and not trucked in frozen.

This is the first review I have ever posted.

Pathetic. Only three tables occupied. We walk in and there's a "Please wait to be seated" sign. So we wait, and wait. Finally, our presence is acknowledged.

"Just two of you?" We've received this type of greeting at many places. Why is that? You poor people. No friends, so "Just two of you?"

"Sit, wherever. I'll be with you soon."

10 minutes later, we're given menus and asked for our drink order. The drinks come fairly quickly.

Another 15 minutes, and no one has come for our order. Evidently, hand signals and "death" stares are not recognized in this establishment. To keep a long story from getting too much longer ... We left (and left cash for our unfinished drinks).

I guess this one's permanently crossed...
