Original Italian Pizzeria & Restaurant — Restaurant in Montrose

OIP has been my favorite place to eat in Montrose for YEARS. Never had a complaint until now.

My husband and I ordered food here way back in March for takeout. Like most people in the area, getting anywhere takes us about 30-45 minutes. We ordered an appetizer, pasta dish and a turkey and cheese salad for dinner. Came all the way to town and picked up the bags, and we didn't check everything. Our mistake, although I don't feel like anyone should have to check anything if the job is done properly. Your job is YOUR job....not mine.

We drive all the way home only to find out they didn't include the salad (my dinner) but charged us for it. I called immediately after we noticed and the person I was transferred to was very apologetic and asked if we could come back and get it. I said no as we were 30+ minutes from town again and not driving back. He told me that they would refund the meal to my card.

Its now May and I'm still waiting for that refund!! It's a shame...I love this place, but don't make a mistake, say you'll correct it, then never do it. Hope you enjoyed my donation to your establishment because I...

Food is still good however we only order takeout now since the fire. Do not like the atmosphere at new place. Takes one person to drive and one to go in to pick up as the parking is horrible. Too hard to carry take out across the busy street for an older person. Was sad to hear today that they are doing fine where they are and may not rebuild at their old location. With few decent sit down restaurants in Montrose anymore I am sad to see them not rebuild. Love their pizza and other menu items but we don't find it worth the parking aggravation to continue going there if they are staying put now. Will find somewhere else to get pizza and Italian food even if it means going to another town. Since I moved here in 1985 there are less and less stores and decent restaurants. Please dis regard the comments from Steve Parkhill. I was there last night , he was being a complete jerk, not only to the staff but to his family !! Was a mistake made yes it was, the kitchen forgot to put sauce on a garden steak. They offered to remake it as the daughter had already slathered it with ketchup. They did not bring him something chicken as stated by him!! The waitress was just trying to be kind and diffuse the situation and make it better.
