Uptown Grill left a lot to be desired on my first, and what will probably be my only visit to this establishment located in Montrose. This review is for a weekend evening between the hours of 6-8 pm. The restaurant was not busy. During this visit we ordered mozzarella sticks as an appetizer, and we each ordered cheeseburgers (I've really been on a burger kick lately), one with regular fries and one with curly fries. The appetizers only took a few minutes to be delivered to our table and were fried perfectly with the burgers coming out somewhere between 10-15 minutes after ordering. These are perfectly acceptable time frames. The curly fries were a hair overcooked while the regular fries were a little under but still satisfying. The burgers themselves were of good proportion and perfectly average. If it were just the food that made the review this would have probably been a 4 star experience. Unfortunately our experience with the staff was not as great. Walking into this restaurant is a little confusing for a customer whom has never been here before. The foyer splits into two separate dining areas, one tiny, one large. We were not greeted by anyone at the door so we took it upon ourselves to find the other half of our party who had arrived earlier. While looking we found ourselves in the path of the sole waitress on shift this evening. We politely apologized for briefly slowing her down and while she was walking away she delivered an offensive offhanded remark that really caught me off guard. We took our seats with the rest of our party and within just a few moments that waitress was at our table. She barely spoke, and when we explained we would need just a few moments to look at the menu she gave us a look of disgust and was off to another task without saying so much as a word to us. She again said nothing when she came back to the table, had no input while we were giving our order, and overall made us feel like we were a huge inconvenience to her evening. There were three tables occupied in the entire restaurant during this whole exchange. Her tune finally started to change when the food started coming out. Now suddenly she was talking and trying to be helpful. She stayed cordial for the rest of the visit. I have to assume the only explanation for this is that the addition of a third table to her workload overwhelmed her and was too much for her to handle. Waiting tables can be stressful and sometimes very overwhelming, but this behaviour is absolutely not the way to handle that stress. It has been a very long time since a business has made me feel as unwelcome as the first half of my visit to Uptown Grill felt and experiences like that are not soon forgotten. While the food was fine, I would not recommend this establishment based on this experience.

Uptown Grill should be embarassed to serve this slop. I just spent $15+ for their seafood combo which consisted of what appears to be frozen Seabest whitefish, shrimp & clams that you can buy in the freezer at your local grocery for a lot less. Worse, all of it is also dry & overcooked - the clams are totally inedible. In these tough economic times where buying lunch or dinner out is not affordable for most people/families, to rip off customers with cheap frozen food at this cost should be a crime. Now I know why there was maybe 2 people in the restaurant on a Friday at lunch hour.

Our family went here for lunch on a Friday. My wife and I each ordered a sandwich. I felt like the kids meals were a good value, and the pricing on breakfast dishes looked good vs what people were getting. We missed breakfast so lunch was what we ordered. The loaded fries seemed old/stale. Kids didn’t mind fortunately. My Cuban sandwich was very underwhelming, and came with potato chips and a couple pickles. Picture attached. The pickle was thicker than the meat and cheese. Restaurant was cute/retro but I would choose somewhere else next time unless we were in time for breakfast.

Absolutely disappointed with this establishment. Every time I order here it's never the same price. My order doesn't change that drastically and yet somehow my order is always over 30$ how am I paying only 22$ for 3 home fries with onions and peppers which they almost never add I ask every time when they are in there it's only a few peppers and onions 4 stack of pancakes and 4 stack of french toast and that will total to 22 bucks now add in 3 eggs scrambled bam all of sudden it's 31 and change. I've been ordering here for the last year and a half now and it's always a problem. Went in for mother's day never got a flower or greeted kindly at that(2023). The lady (hostess) was running around mad and frustrated and wanted everyone to see she was, pushed past an elderly lady in her way at one point. Handed me my food and I guess I must not look like a mom to her because she didn't even offer me a flower when I got there or on my way out. Honestly I'm writing this review now because its just been situation after situation with this place from the prices always fluctuating to the nasty attitude of the waitresses. Used to love this place and thought it was so great decently priced food with a good portion but that isn't the case anymore. Seems like since they've known us as regulars the service has just gotten worse every time. I'll never pay 31 dollars for 3 stack of french toast 4 pancakes 3 eggs and home fries. In this economy money isn't no joke for any of us. I also believe they're trying to scam because one time my order came to almost 50 bucks when I called back to ask why it would be so insanely high the lady laughed and said she accidentally added 3 French toast meals to my order but then the lady in the back wasn't actually making them because she just knew it wasn't right but yet they tried to charge me for it and didn't supposedly catch it until I called back. Like come on they know my order any other time before I even say anything but yet this time she thought I asked for 50 bucks worth of food. We will not be back again. I'll go to Chris's diner in Binghamton before I ever drive here again. I will be letting anyone I know as well to not give business here. Lots of family and friends from this area and...

Arrived at 11:15 AM for breakfast. We sat ourselves, per the sign at the front, and no one greeted us, which was fine, but, we then sat and waited for 30 minutes just to be acknowledged at which point we were told breakfast was done being served. For the thirty minutes we sat there we observed 1 of the 2 waitresses verbally abusing multiple patrons and two tables of 5 people each waiting so long that they got up and left. Will not be back here- we felt like we were being admonished for trying to be paying customers. We felt like if we asked for management we would have been yelled at. We overheard multiple people expressing concern of being yelled at by one of the waiters if they asked for their check or asked for a table to be wiped down so they could sit. We ultimately were there for...
