We recently had the pleasure of dining at Bonefish Grill, and I must say—this experience was a standout. While the restaurant was surprisingly quiet that evening, it made for a relaxed and intimate dining atmosphere. What truly elevated our night, though, was the exceptional service we received from our waiter, Chris. His attentiveness, professionalism, and genuine warmth made us feel completely taken care of from start to finish. He was knowledgeable, offered great suggestions, and checked in often without being overbearing. The Food: Everything we tried was well-prepared and flavorful. • Bacon Cheeseburger with Fries Classic and satisfying. The burger was juicy, topped with crispy bacon and melty cheddar, and the fries were golden with just the right amount of salt. A comfort-food staple done right. • Grilled Chicken Piccata with Rice and Asparagus This dish was light yet full of flavor. The lemon caper sauce was tangy and balanced, and the asparagus was perfectly tender-crisp. • Shrimp Salad A fresh, vibrant plate with grilled shrimp, mixed greens, tomatoes, and seeds for crunch. The shrimp were well-seasoned and had a lovely char, while the dressing tied everything together nicely. • Grilled Salmon with Green Beans One of the highlights. The salmon was beautifully cooked, flaking easily with a fork, and rested on a bed of green beans with a light glaze. The garlic truffle fries in the background (also in the image) were indulgent and came with a bright herb sauce that complemented them perfectly. Final Thoughts: With tasty food and an outstanding server like Chris, this Bonefish Grill location really delivered. It’s rare to find such top-tier service in such a calm setting. Highly recommended—especially if you can catch a night when it’s quiet and you’re lucky enough to have Chris as your waiter. Would absolutely return.

It’s a ‘2’ star for being apologetic but still the service was quite bad. We were situated at a table and waited for more than 10 minutes but no server came over to our table. Even waving down a server took a few minutes, as some had ignored us and then finally a waitress acknowledged us. The odd part was that there was another couple that came after us and they had their drinks/bread/appetizers before anyone came over to assist us. Anyway, the server took our order and came back with our drinks but never gave us straws (I didn’t order beer). Then another server came by to give us the chips/dips that we ordered but he dropped 1/3 of the chips on the table. I did ask him for straws but he left the table without acknowledging what he plans to do with all those chips that he dropped on the table (not a single word). When he came back to the table with our straws, I’ve asked him to get us more chips…it’s odd that I even have to ask. If he knows what he is doing, he should’ve just made it right without me asking…was I expected to pick it up from the table and place them back on the plate??? Separately, seems like their heating system was down and I understand that was just bad luck on their end. The manager and our waitress did apologize but it’s just out of formality…you just have to be smart and correct it or make up for it. Overall, you can say that being short-staffed was part of the issue but I think it’s just folks being less attentive and need to pay attention to all customers.

Honestly the food was awesome. We did the two for $45 . Food outstanding . So much food we couldnt eat it all between the two of us. Now I am NOT a fan Of the server bringing me a machine to pay on , Standing behind me Watching me click buttons and telling me oh There's going to be a question You need to answer after paying. This made me feel extremely uncomfortable and my date felt very uncomfortable watching the server standing right behind me. I could feel her breath on me while I was deciding if I should give her a tip. I was generous gave her a tip. This made me very uncomfortable that the server, I felt basically held me hostage to give her a tip by standing behind me and staring/GLARING over my shoulder . ThIs tipping culture needs to get some manners and respect their customers. Privacy is a thing . Id much rather write my tip on a paper rather be suggested a 18% tip as the lowest minimum tip . Not all service requires a tip! This service definitely didnt deserve a 18% tip Especially if you're going to stand behind me while i pay and decide what I should tip.. If anyone should be tipped i would like the chef/cooks who made this meal to get tipped! This experiencereally upset me . Im not going to be visiting this bonefish grill again

My family and I just ate there on a Saturday night, the food was in unacceptable it was not even warm or seasoned ,the Cod imperial was dry and the sauce salty my entree was a dry crab cake and a bland steak .The restaurant was empty at this point. We ordered two martinis they had on the specialty drink menu, I think they just used olive juice no booze. Our server was more interested in going home than serving us .The meal started out fine but declined from there, the server offered us some bread before the entrees and it came finally when we were done eating the entrees , after asking three times. We got appetizers ,potstickers and bang bang shrimp, they were fine but cold .While we were eating the apps the entrees arrived and the food runner was literally pushing the food into my face while I was still eating my appetizers .I felt very much like we were being rushed out of the place. We asked for containers to bring our food home she handed us two styrofoam containers but no bag, while the table behind us got the works ,I think they were friends of hers ,the manager and she were sitting with them when we walked in. I ordered coffee which was served with low-fat milk I asked for half and half and this incompetent waitress said she didn't have any ,no half and half! She also told me that she was all cleaned up and actually had to brew the coffee because there was none ,it was two hours before closing ! I'm sorry I had to bother her. Our server was never engaging and did not offer any recommendations ,we basically had to ask for everything ,she never checked on us and never apologized for pushing the food out so quickly. We have had better experiences here but I don't think I will be going back ,the service and food quality have definitely gone downhill. While writing this I also looked their other reviews, these problems have been going on for a long time and management pays nothing more than lip service to them.I would not recommend them to anyone unless you want to have a poor dining experience .I know they will probably blame Covid as everyone seems to be doing these days, this is a poor excuse for lousy food and service at high prices. As a last thought my wife informed me that there was no toilet paper in the ladies room...

Last evening, Sat May 4, 2013, we were humiliated by the manager at the Bonefish grill in Pine Brook NJ. My wife ordered a dish which included a slice of Filet Mignon. When we received the order the steak was flat and never have I or my wife seen a piece of filet mignon that appeared that way. We questioned the server and he insisted it was filet mignon. Moments later, we asked our waiter, who sent over the manager on site that evening. The manager came over and my wife was explaining to him that we have never seen a slice of filet mignon that looked like that and we felt it was not filet mignon when he suddenly interrupted her and in effect through his words told her to shut up. I was stunned and humiliated. Still 12 hours later I am angry over the incident. All we wanted was a night out to enjoy what we thought was a nice restaurant. The meat obviously was not a slice of filet mignon, unless the bonefish serves flat pieces of steak about 1/2' thick and calls them filet mignon. To go out and be spending upwards of $150 for 1 hour and to be insulted by the manager on site is an event I will never forget. His resolution was to take $26 off the bill. yes that was something but wouldn't it have been easier and positive customer relations for all if the manager instead simply said; miss, I will go back in the kitchen and get you the slice of meat you are asking for; (which probably costs around $8 judging from the slices they were serving). Overall I cannot believe the judgment shown by this manager and how some one that is obviously not a people person can even get or hold a people facing position in a service oriented industry. At any rate the joke is on the Bonefish if this is their front guy. They will obviously be facing more issues from having this man as the manager. A addressing the public with a short temper in the food business is a recipe for disaster. Finally, I will be sure to tell everyone I know about this incident and to make the Bonefish Grill sound as undesirable of a place to dine in as possible. I am making it my mission to spread the word. The laughable part is all this for an $8 piece of meat. I always thought it was the manager’s job to insure repeat business, not to...
