We were out this way vacationing for spring break. We are from the Chicago suburbs and although barbecue by us is good obviously it's nothing like down south. anytime we travel through Tennessee Kentucky or Georgia we always are sure to stop at one or two barbecue joints. Many were good in our favorite before was Red State barbecue in Kentucky. That was a really high bar to beat however, I will have to say the pulled pork here at Mike's is the best I've ever had. I got the tumbleweed and it was amazing! so much so but I didn't even realize it didn't have barbecue sauce on it until I was halfway done eating it because it didn't need it at all. It was so juicy and Smokey and I had several chunks of bark. Yum! I really wish that they sold it by the pound because I would have taken a couple pounds home regardless of the price. The baked beans were really good, the macaroni was okay. The pulled Park was amazing and my mother in law had the beef brisket sandwich and said that was amazing as well. They are currently seriously understaffed so there was only the owner running around taking care of a dozen plus orders at a time so we were there for quite a while. So I would recommend giving yourself some time and don't be in a rush. the owner was actually super sweet and really working her tail off to make everyone happy. When wherever in the area again I will most definitely be...

The best most flavorful and tender brisket we have had in awhile. The toast that comes with the plate is amazing and idk what they put on it but it's so good and buttery. The baked beans had meat in them and were amazing with just the right amt of heat and seasoning! Loved the baked apples and mustard potato salad and mac and cheese also! Every time we have came we have been greeted and seated immediately and service is always friendly and prompt! It is a cash only place and closes at 5 but it is so worth it!! Dinners are served on trays with plastic silverware and canned sodas but the sweet tea was my favorite, so it is a relaxed come as you are place which we love! It seems like it gets better every time we go....the brisket is our favorite and is always juicy and tender so we have never tried their homemade bbq sauces because it didn't need a thing to enhance it! We haven't tried the smoked corn because they were out but it's on our list for the next visit! My husband tried the rocket dog and said it was great but packs some heat he was sweating by the last few bites but we are light weights in the spicy dept. and it was almost a meal itself! Super nice people in a neat tiny place with interesting decor! It's become one of our favorites!! Simple great food that won't break the bank! We leave stuffed...

Rudest staff ever experience. My family sat outside to eat and I went in to use the restroom which is located next to where the staff hangs out. The restroom door is held closed by a little hook and it's very easy to hear everything the staff is saying. As I'm using the restroom I hear the older waitress speaking to the guy and she's insulting customers and using profanity. I thought to myself that's very unprofessional and they had no idea I could hear them. She called them dumb aes and said there's been a bunch of dumb aes today. She went on to say that the one customer isn't staying because they didn't serve French fries and " those idiots can go to Joe's barbeque down the road if they don't like it". It turns out those " idiots and dumb a**es" were my family waiting outside. When I walked out of the restroom the employees faces froze and it was obvious they knew i heard their whole conversation. When I went outside and saw my family waiting by the car I realized that's who they were insulting. Needless to say we went to Joe's barbeque and it was the best barbeque we ever had. If the owner is reading this horrible experience happened Saturday January 14th around 1-2 pm and it was the older lady who was the waitress...

We're fairly new to the area and are making our rounds of restaurants within 30 minutes of our Ducktown, TN home. Mike's Trackside BBQ is in Morganton, GA, a small mountain town within that radius. This place is a little gem! Nostalgic decor, friendly service and smoky barbecue. The house made sauces are warm when they come to the table, which is nice because it doesn't cool your food too much. I had the brisket plate with green beans and baked beans, and loved my meal, except the green beans which were too salty for me. The baked beans were delicious, and loaded with pork. The brisket was as tender as can be. My husband ate every bit of his wings and combo plate, relishing every bite. Our server was very helpful and kept our drinks topped off, even to the point of a refill to go at the end of the meal. We had ordered the brisket chili to share from the specials board, and ended up taking it home for later. The food was fresh and hot, the service was very good, and it was a pleasant and comfortable atmosphere. This one is definitely on our "we'll be back" list.

Mike's is a little BBQ joint right off of 1st street, if you're on your way to all of the shopping that Blue Ridge has to offer. Be advised that the place is small, but that's not a bad thing at all. The atmosphere is fairly rustic, which is appropriate considering the food that they serve. I applaud Mike for the brisket as it's probably the best that I've had in the Blue Ridge/Ellijay area. It certainly has the best smoke flavor that I've tasted in this area. The meat had a decent smoke ring, but the center was also pink, as in pink like a medium-cooked steak. . I smoke my own brisket frequently and have never encountered this before, but it's not a complaint. The side of cinnamon apples that I had were delicious as were the beans. The restaurant is so small that it seems difficult to social distance during the pandemic. Unfortunately, none of the staff seemed be masking up, which was disappointing but in the week that I've been in Blue Ridge, it's been consistent with most of the places that I've eaten at. Will definitely be back the next time I'm in town.
