I thought I would update this review because I took a chance and visited Dacey's again (Dec 2018 on a Monday evening). This time I sat in their back room where several birthday parties were ongoing. My experience was similar to the last time I went. Service was okay to start, but deteriorated after I got my meal. After waiting 15 minutes to order a second drink with my meal I chased down the waitress/bar tender for another drink and asked for my tab. My tab did not come, so after 20 minutes I stood by the cash register and waited to get my bill and paid. I will say the food is really good, but the service frustratingly slow to non-existent.
As of Sept 2018
I am regularly in Trenton/Morrisville on business. I decided one Weds evening to walk from the Quality Inn Morrisville to Dacey's (under a 10min walk).
It was about 1/4 seated, several groups were there, it seemed pretty lively for a Weds night. I sat at the bar. Despite there being two bartenders, not being particularly busy, it surprisingly took five minutes to be offered a drink and menu. I ordered an appetizer and indicated I would hold onto my menu to decide on a meal. I asked one of the bartenders for clarification on the menu, got my appetizer (wings - they were fine), I set my menu aside and waited to order my meal. After 25 minutes of seeing both bartenders walking past me every few minutes without asking if I needed a refill on my drink, or asking me if I was ready to order off the menu, I finally just asked for my tab.
The locals may love their bar, but it seemed standoffish, and I won't be back.
I grabbed a Lyft to the Mill Hill Salon, which was welcoming, had good conversation with a transplant from Brazil who was also sitting at the bar, and...

Itâs a shame because I thought it was going to become my new local bar, but I was made to feel unwelcome there, so I wonât be back, unless some things change.
Question: when did some bartenders in our area become anti free-speech tyrants?
There were only two patrons (myself and a friend) who happened to be discussing current events. Well, according to the bartenders, we were NOT allowed to be discussing what we were discussing. We were scolded and told âno talking politicsâ (in a free country!) and then one bartender said âespecially when it comes to Trump,â which tells me there is a political bias in this bar. Why would these bartenders tell us we are not allowed to talk about the President of the United States in this bar? They proceed to tell us that someone could be offended and pointed to an empty seat - since, again, there was only us two patrons in this bar, who got along - with out the hint of irony that the bartenders were actually offending us by attacking our right to free speech. The people who fought so hard for our rights would be mortified about what bartenders are doing in 2025. The bartenders are the ones who didnât want to hear what we were talking about. They should butt out of patrons conversations and stop scolding people from talking in a gathering place where people go TO TALK. This place has good food and pretty good service, but why would I ever go back to a place that made me...
Read moreRecently heard about this spot and a friend wanted to go so two couples went for 4-6 happy hour as indicated on the wed site. Convenient parking is always a plus. The bar area was inviting with high tops but a vacant dining room was even more appealing. Unfortunately the web site had not been updated to indicate no happy hour. The place was fronted by a mother behind the bar and our friendly server the daughter, as she told us for many years. My meal was perfect. I enjoyed one Cosmo, with the bacon wrapped scallops. On to a roast beef melt with onion rings (an up charge) and a very good coleslaw. Potato skins were gobbled up along with a pork roll and cheese sandwich, canât go wrong with that. Various burgers were on the menu and our companions ordered and enjoyed them. I took half a sandwich home. The price was very reasonable. Looks like a great...
