Miss Vickies South — Restaurant in Morton

When I got here I noticed there was no sign on the building to let you know that you're at the restaurant. There is a small handwritten whiteboard on the window that says the hours with Miss Vickie's written very tiny on it. When I went inside I noticed the decor was cute enough. There was a wait to be seated sign that we stood behind for a few minutes being the only people in line. At this point we were told to seat ourselves. I ordered a Mexican scrambler with American fries (well done), and the wife ordered a patty melt with french fries. I didn't take a picture as I normally do because neither dish looked very appetizing, but I thought I would let the taste speak for itself. The American fries were medium cooked at best, whereas her french fries were burnt and almost inedible. The scrambler was just okay as was the Patty melt. The scrambler was advertised as three eggs but it looked like maybe two at best. In fact there were more jalapenos than there were eggs, and it felt like those were frozen and sitting on top of my eggs. The cheese wasn't even melted on top of the scrambler. The service was okay, they were friendly enough, but not very attentive. There was a very long wait to get our food and it wasn't even busy. Really loved coming here from out of town to meet with family for breakfast. Usually the service is top notch but this past Sunday’s visit fell short. The service was just not the usual for whatever reason. There were 3 servers behind the bar and it took almost 10 mins to get a cup of coffee. The establishment wasn’t busy and I watched them look at me multiple times while they talked. I even watched them move to try and not be seen talking. It was that obvious. 2 of the servers even passed my table to deliver food and drinks to others. And, we watched a couple walk in after us who was served pretty immediately. When the waitress finally came over our table was told the servers were confused about their sections and sorry for the wait. Almost wish nothing had been said because none of us bought this reasoning. Definitely felt like the server didn’t really want to serve us. The food came quickly and was delicious as usual. Never giving my business here again, liked to eat here before heading out on the road with my semi that I parked their on the weekends. Owner is a bitter angry woman. No note saying she wanted to talk to me about my truck parking just went and called the tow company even though I have been parking my truck there 3+ years before her business. Whatever.
