Went there for a nice quiet dinner, I ordered the combo fajitas (chicken and shrimp) well when it arrived it hardly had any chicken on the plate and 4 shrimp, I thought this was very chinsey for 14.99 (should have took a picture of it) well I made one fajita, with just the chicken. I was about half finished with the 1st of 3 tortillas they gave me then I notice a black hair on the chicken that was still on the plate, I told the lady about it and she said that she would remake the meal and take off half the price, I thought that was fair, after put the order in she came to the table and said since she was remaking the whole thing that she was going to charge me full price, I stated what she told me about being half off and she started arguing with me saying 'well you were almost finished with it anyway and there was only 1 shrimp" I then stated back that I had only had about half of my 1st fajita and that all the shrimp was still there, she said to me " whatever, I will give you have off anyway," after sitting there a moment I really had a problem with her arguing with me and making me feel as if I did something wrong so I asked the other server if I could speak to the manager, she stated that the lady the spoke to me was the owner, really, you treat customers that way, well after hearing that I was even more aggravated, I told the waitress that you don't treat customers that way and after all of this I said, I don't want any of this meal and I am not paying for it either, the waitress said fine with an attitude and said for me to leave. Absolutely the worst experience I have ever had in a restaurant, I and have never be treated like this by the owner of one, how unprofessional and complete disregard for the customer, I will never go back and would suggest that nobody support the...
Read morewalked in here, really hungry, so forgive me if my frustrations are purely from hangry rage.
my husband and I walked in and sat ourselves, as instructed. it took about 10 minutes for a server to come over and bring us menus. during this ten minutes we were waiting, two other parties walked in, sat themselves, and got service almost immediately upon sitting down. which, I would love to believe the staff didn't see me, but I made eye contact with two of them repeatedly.
the waiter brought over menus, and then we asked for a drink menu. he puts down a QR code. we scanned the code and had the menu. he walks away, then, for another five minutes, to take the other tables' food orders.
so, to recap- by the time we had a drink menu, people that came in after us had already been brought drinks, chips and salsa, and have ordered their meals.
we were then brought chips and salsa, which looked.......sad. like, corn floating at the top sad. so, we left and drove to a different Mexican restaurant nearly half an hour away, because already, it was just not looking great for us.
is the food good? maybe! but hungry people like me just don't have the time.
that other Mexican restaurant though? 10/10. hard...
Read moreWhat a hidden gem! First, good table salsa -kinda a mix between pico and a thin salsa with a touch of warmth. Chips are flour chips out of a bag. Margaritas by the pitcher with your choice of tequila. First we had to get past Jose Cuervo is not tequila (it's mezcal) and that it tastes like turpentine. We found a reposado that was acceptable (Lunazul, i think) plus they have Don Julios, 1800, and a few others. I'd recommend they up their tequila offerings outside of Jose's icky stuff. Hornitos, el Jimadore, Camarena are all respectable tequilas that are affordable.
Now for the food, the main dishes were awesome. I had lomo saltado - as good as the peruvian chicken places, just a little salty. Hubby had the Cacun tacos and said they were really good. Now the so-so, the sides. They need help. Yellow rice was Goya's, refried beans were out of a can and plain. If they improved the sides this would be a "must eat here" place. Beans like Taco Bar's cowboy beans, rice should be homemade yellow, cilantro lime, or spanish rice which would just wow customer's palettes.
We will be back! There's a lot on this...
