The only good thing about this place is their outdoor area and look/feel of the restaurant. It could be such an awesome place! Unfortunately, the organization and service is absolutely terrible. We put our name on a list and we’re told it would be a 35 minutes wait. I asked what’s about the tables outside? She said we could get a drink at the bar and take it out there. There was a tent with several tables under it for a birthday party that were being served. After over an hour my husband went to ask about the wait time. She said she has no idea and that we could order take out from the bar. The bar said it would be 45 minutes for an appetizer. We asked if we could sit at a two top table because we were waiting for our friends to show up and we were the ones that wanted food. The lady said the table was closed. There was absolutely nothing wrong with the table. After about 1.5 hours I received a text saying I was moved to the top of the wait list and to head back (we had been sitting outside the whole time). 20 minutes went by and we never heard our name, so finally my friend went up to ask. They insisted that they called me name. There were 4 of us waited and after being there 1.5 hours I can assure you we were listening very closely. It was 2 hours before we got a table. Once we got to our table the service wasn’t even good. They messed up and gave one of our appetizers to another table. By the time we got the appetizer we didn’t even want it anymore. The food was just mediocre bar food. This was definitely not the type of place where you’d feel waiting 2 hours was worth it. We asked how often the owners were there and our waitress said the owners and their family are there almost everyday working in the kitchen. It’s a shame to hear that they haven’t figured out how to properly run this place because it could be such a great place. They need to start serving the front outside tables to help decrease the wait time and probably hire more...
Read moreOne of my favorite spots during summer!! Such a fun atmosphere. Sometimes they have bands on the water. The bar is fun to sit at if you like conversation. That’s like the middle of the whole operation. Fun to watch it all go on around you. You can bring your pup as well, just have to stay in the picnic area. Outdoor games. Nicely decorated. Playing Beatles music in the air. Super fun.
This year my son and I went to have dinner and I left a little disappointed.
We came just before rush about 4:30-5. Sat in the picnic area I brought my dog Otis Service was alright. We were the only ones in the picnic area, so I understood
Ordered pickle chips..they were good (I like the sweet/spicy pickle version they make/ would’ve been good with a chipotle dip vs thousand island in my opinion)
Then we ordered a spicy chicken sandwich (Same thing I always get) Except it wasn’t white meat anymore It was a thigh meat now -Thighs often have more fat and other things going on (I personally wasn’t a fan of the change in cuts of meat) The breading was the same, crispy and tasty, sauce on the sandwich was great, pickle and bun, all was good other then the chicken
My son ordered the turkey sand which. He was happy with it. I didn’t try it. Looked like your ordinary sandwich with lunch meat.
He also ordered a lemonade. It was not very good. Not sure if they make the lemonade there or what but it...
Read moreLove this place! This was our 3rd time here and the food was great again. The fried pickle chips, the Old English fish & chips, fried cauliflower, the foccacia, avocado toast...we've tried almost everything on the menu and it's all amazingly good! Really cool location too. Right on the water...very unique and comfortable. We also frequent Penne Lane which is owned by the same family and can't say enough good things about it. These two restaurants are the best things (with the possible exception of J Baldwins & Testa Bara) to happen to the dismal Macomb County dining scene in forever.
Our dinner this evening with 3 guests was once again excellent but the experience was really marred by of all things, Karaoke! At it's best Karaoke is awful...I mean why would you want to listen someone who can't sing destroy some legendary song? Trust me, the original artist sings their song way better than you! Other than one person (Kayla) tonight's lineup was unbearably terrible. There is just no excuse for allowing these desperate, tone deaf people to ruin everyone's dinner while trying to live out their Rockstar dreams.
It looks like this only happens on Thursdays so plan your visit for...
