Fortune Express - A Hidden Gem with A+ Service and Incredible Food
If you’re looking for amazing Chinese food in Cincinnati with outstanding service, Fortune Express is the place to go!
Ming (the mom) and Vivian (the daughter) are truly one of the best duos you’ll ever meet. Their warmth and kindness made my visit unforgettable. From the moment I walked in, their bright smiles set the tone — friendly, welcoming, and genuine.
I was ordering for five people, and let me tell you, some of those orders came with complicated food restrictions. Despite all the questions I had (and multiple phone calls back and forth with the group), Ming and Vivian were incredibly patient. They answered every question and happily made adjustments to spice levels and substitutions. Not once did I feel rushed — instead, they treated me like I was their top priority the entire time.
The prices were exactly what I’d expect for such quality, but the food? Absolutely top-notch. Everything was freshly made, packed with flavor, and came out fast — even with our large order. Watching them cook up a storm in record time was honestly impressive.
The restaurant itself was clean, comfortable, and inviting, with plenty of seating available. Even though I was ordering takeout, I appreciated the calm vibe while I waited. And as if their kindness wasn’t already clear, Vivian personally brought my order to me with yet another warm smile.
As I left, I couldn’t help but smile back, waving to both Ming and Vivian as they sent me off with cheerful goodbye and waves.
Fortune Express isn’t just a restaurant — it’s a place where you feel cared for, from the food to the service. Without a doubt, this will be my go-to spot whenever I’m visiting family in Cincinnati....

The atmosphere is okay, decor can use a lot of work, the restroom lights are dim and dark, but the service is good. They seem to only be open certain hours within the day. From 2:30pm-4pm they're closed and reopen right after until 9am. Menu size is good. We ordered coca cola's and it felt bland and old. No fizz or anything that comes from a soda. They don't have kid size cups. My kids got large styrofoam cups while my husband and I (the adults) got small glass cups. For the kids we ordered a side of fries and chicken wings, my husband ordered the lo mein with shrimp, and I got the chicken broccoli with fried rice. My husband enjoyed his lo mein, it was a good portion and good amount a spicy for him. He also had wontons which he too enjoyed. My three year old ate the very thin almost burnt French fries that lacked a bit of salt. I enjoyed the chicken wings, it was probably the best thing on the menu for me. I didn't like my chicken broccoli. This is the first I've seen this dish white in color, with mushrooms, and very soft. The fried rice was also light in color and lacked flavor. I couldn't finish this dish at all versus all the other times and places I've ordered the same dish and finished my plate. Tables are not cleaned up right away, I guess they're not busy enough to do so right away. Overall, my personal experience was rated a 2 star and my husband gives...

Always good portions and good flavor. And honestly if you go to a Chinese restaurant and get French fries, wings, etc. You are in the wrong place. That is not what they "specialize" in. So being said their fries or whatever not bring salty enough is no surprise. Order something Chinese. It is a Chinese restaurant. If ya want fries go to mcdonalds or something and stop leaving bad reviews bc of fries. This is a small personally owned business. No need to tarnish their reputation over French fries. Might I say as well if you are saying since covid it has changed I doubt it has. My taste buds changed when I got covid. I HATED peanut butter for a while after getting covid even though Reese cups are and were my FAVORITE snack. I couldn't stand them for the longest time. So I doubt the food has changed. It's probably your taste buds. And the ones saying that the inside needs redecorated...... who cares if it does. To me it's all about the service I get and how good...
