El Maya Bistro — Restaurant in Mount Olive

HORRIBLE!! One should not have a bad attitude when the food you serve is not great! Chicken in the quesadilla was dry and under-seasoned. Not to mention the teaspoon serving size of guacamole and sour cream. Not to mention that they are understaffed and the present staff is inexperience when it comes to handling large crowds during a lunch "rush". Server kept forgetting simple things like utensils, straws, the drink order (although he wrote it down), MANNERS!! I mean he literally walked away leaving two of my party's meals on another table unattended and uncovered. Server numero dos was just as nasty. Two other people in my party had to put their food order in twice. At no time did any of cause a scene or a ruckus about it. Yet when she finally brought the meals out she dropped it on the table as if they were dogs. Trust me when I say they don't ever have to worry about me coming back there! I just wanted to leave a review to say that I appreciate the way the restaurant is designed. Not only is it so spacious you aren't sitting up on someone else, it's nicely decorated too. BUT the thing I love the best is you don't have to worry about standing in line to be seated while everyone looks at you! They have an entry "foyer" for privacy. That goes for while you're eating, no one will be standing in line waiting to be seated staring at you. If you are picky about that sort of thing, you will appreciate this too while you enjoy the meal. The food is great and they do Taco Tuesdays!! Love that! My whole family can eat quality food for less than $20. I can't even do that going through a drive thru...

First time ordering by phone from El Maya Bistro and have not been inside to dine in 2 or 3 years. I do not go inside because of poor service. The young girls stand around reading or disappear in the back. Today, Nov. 13, 2022, I ordered by phone an $18.99 Fatita, optimistic for a good Mexican dinner. I knew one order was was all the 2 of us would eat. I called and asked the lady to add EXTRA sauce, one hot and one regular along with EXTRA wraps. Price did not matter. The sauce (3 tiny cups) was tasteless and must have come from the refrigerator. The wraps were not hot, and only three wraps. Gristle was in the meat.
