Yummy Orient — Restaurant in Mount Olive

Will they need to colse this place down on Sundays or change there time I got there at 8:30 pm and it says it closes at 930pm,the owner seated us to wait ,a few mins go by like 15min then she said by the way we colse at 9pm so if someone get up you still can't eat in because we colse at 9pm really.she could have told me that to begin with don't even know how to ran the place to tell me that at 9pm there colseing they just need to shut it down if it's to munch work Close the door .learn how to run your business,no but she wants people to get the left overs on buffet for take out only cold food,No Sir. Not me ,I want fresh food . Update i went again on 7/27/2022 a week later the owner saw my review how sweet and she Recognize me and said by the way I like. Your review if youI don't like the food don't come here ,and I said it's not the food it's the way you run the place but she don't have to worry i will NOT be going there anymore and will not recommend this place to no one she needs a better addttide.to run her place food is not relly the issue but here sugar salad don't help...

Service isn’t that great, seem to stand and watch you while you eat without clearing the table much. Atmosphere is good as far as booth, interior, and food bars. Food is ehhh, not much taste. Egg rolls always seem to be overcooked or have this old cabbage taste. Fried rice you have more peas and carrots than you’ll find onions. Pepper steak meat tastes weird, crab Rangoon isn’t very tasteful, soups are bland, wings are hard, peanut butter chicken seems to be different than what they used to serve which was great, but now not worth it. Don’t really do the salad and other stuff. So overall pleasant view with mediocre food. Main Moon is ten times better in Kinston. But price is okay for a cheap meal to feed everyone just expect less flavor for a Chinese restaurant.

UPDATE: Tried this place again last week. Everything was fresh and had plenty of flavor. Egg rolls could use a lot of work bc they’re horrible. But I like fresh eggs where the cabbage doesn’t have a freezer burnt taste. Other than that go at 11 and when it’s fresh. Chicken on the stick awesome. And love they play...

Fried rice is super dry and flavorless. It has an odd yellow color, almost like turmeric, minus flavor. Seems to be typical of any Chinese Restaurant in NC. Nothing like what is found up in New England. Lo Mein is good. Could use more onions and shredded carrots. Breaded chicken for sweet n sour is great! Teriyaki chicken on skewers is out of this world good! Spring rolls are normally great but many times undercooked. Hit or miss. The beef here is to be desired. Juicy/chewy like beef shouldn't be. I keep trying yet keep spitting it out. If beef was a better quality I was going to ask for beef and pea pods. Dessert and salad bar is OK. All in all, it works for those looking for a change. I did get charged on Monday noon for evening price of $8.59 before tax....
