This was our second and last visit to Cantina 73 - We attempted to go the first month they were open and had horrible service, the food was not good (cold, slow, not seasoned, etc). I chalked that up to them being new.
2 weeks ago went ran out on a Tuesday evening and figured why not give them another try since they had been open 4-5 months now. Wehn we got there it was packed for a Tuesday (I hadnt thought about taco Tuesday). They got us seated relatively fast (15 min or so). Thats where the good stopped.
10 minutes after sitting down, the waitress finally came to get our drink order. We were ready to order food by then but she didnt give us a chance. It took another 10 minutes or so to get 3 galsses of water. When she returned we ordered our food. It was simple order, nachos, and tacos (I mean it was Taco tuesday right). 50 minutes later our food had not arrived. People that had come in after us had already ordered, eaten, and were waiting to pay. We told the waitress to cancel our order, we would pay for the chips and salsa we ordered and just leave. She told us our food was actually on the way right then. The manager came over and half way apologized and offered us a free sopapilla for the troubles (a $0.25 desert). Fve minutes later our food arrived. Yum!!! Cold soggy nachos, cold tacos that the shells were dripping with grease, and a couple shreds of cheese. We did not eat our meal, and the manager attempted to come over to make sure everything was OK. I showed him the problem and explained my displeasure only to be offered to come back and give them another try. NEVER going to happen.
Let me tell you, if you are going out to eat in Mt. Pleasant, go to 73 & Main, go to What-A-burger, go to Sandy's. STAY AWAY FROM THIS GOD...
Read moreVisited once and was ok other than having to wait forever on refills because the waitresses were too busy talking. A couple months later we decided we wanted Mexican but did not want to go to Concord, so we agreed on take out from Cantina 73. It just so happened to be "Taco Tuesday" so one order was for five beef and cheese tacos, also ordered was Pollo Picado, and a Chicken Chimichanga with no avocado due to a severe allergy. The girl taking my order was constantly talking to other people and then asking me "huh?" She said it would be ready in approximately ten minutes, and it was. Unfortunately, the order was wrong when my mother checked through it. Instead of the five tacos they had prepared five quesadillas, she informed them of their error and had to wait twenty minutes for five beef and cheese ONLY tacos. Since everything except that was correct there was no reason to recheck the order, or so you would think. Once we were getting all the food out we realized the Pollo Picado was missing. The Chicken Chimichanga was supposed to have a few things on top, but evidently since I asked for no avocado they thought it would be best to leave it with only beans. Also, the chicken looked as if it had only been boiled and then mixed with red and green chilis, there was no taste, and it was very dry. I believe we will make the drive to Concord next time we want...
Read moreWe’ve had issues here in the past but decided to give it another try, especially since we were coming with friends after a mud run. The experience started off well—our waitress was absolutely wonderful. She was sweet, attentive, and handled our party of ten with professionalism and care. She really did a fantastic job.
Unfortunately, things took a turn when I ordered a tequila shot and specifically asked for Lunazul, a lower-end, more affordable tequila. Instead, I was served a shot of Clase Azul—a top-shelf tequila that runs about $300 a bottle—without being informed. When the bill came, I saw I had been charged $35 for the shot. I brought it up and explained the mistake, but the owner insisted I had to pay for it and immediately became rude and condescending. He dismissed everything I said, talked down to me, and made me feel like I was being unreasonable. It got so uncomfortable that I had to ask someone else from our group to step in and help advocate on my behalf.
Eventually, after my friend got involved, the owner did resolve the issue. But the way I was treated—and the fact that I needed someone else just to be listened to—completely soured the experience. Despite the excellent service from our waitress, we will not...
