Laura's Cheesecake & Café — Restaurant in Mount Pleasant

Loved the building. The staff was good. Saw this on Texas Bucket List years ago. So excited when I had to go to Pittsburg, TX decided to come here & try it. My husband wanted a chicken salad sandwich w/ soup substituted for chips. It showed this option on the menu. It is an option on the menu. The employee gave him 1/2 sandwich & cup of soup minus the chips & pickle. It is cheaper than what my husband actually ordered, so we let it go. I wanted 1/2 Reuben & a cup of soup, but Rueben doesn’t come as 1/2 sandwich, so I got pimento cheese instead w/ Chicken Tortilla soup. It was my fault that I didn’t pay attention to description of the soup on the menu. It was tomato based & I really didn’t like it. They allowed me to exchange for Broccoli Cheese, 1 of my favorites. Also not great. The sandwich was a lot of bread that was tasty, but so little pimento cheese that I couldn’t taste it. I was excited for the cheesecake. I got lemon blueberry. If you need a special dessert for a family gathering or a food gift, the cheesecake sampler is sure to delight. I shipped one to my mother (2 states away) and she loved it. The presentation is elegant – beautifully boxed with gold foil paper. The sampler comes with various choices – all delicious. Over the years, I have purchased many food gifts for business. I love that Laura's cheese cake is top quality at a great price. I finally treated myself & my local family to the sampler. Everyone raved about it! This is my new go-to food gift for special friends and business associates. And every now and then, I have to buy one for myself.

I also tried the breakfast at Laura’s. My friend and I both ordered the Amigo skillet. First class quality! The service was outstanding which I always appreciate. You don’t often find this high caliber of restaurant available locally. Definitely recommended. I hope to try...

Worth traveling for! Restaurant seating is so much more comfortable than a "commercial" restaurant. You walk in and you have space. The staff was friendly and knowledgeable. Loved the menu selection. Feels healthier and much more homemade than even your average niche cafe. And our meal choices were NOT loaded with salt! The cheesecake was divine. Rich and creamy. On par or maybe even better than cheesecake factory basic cheesecake. We had the turtle and cookies and cream. And while this isn't a critique, just a comparison, the flavors weren't as dominant. Personally, I prefer the flavors to take the background as the star is the cheesecake itself. Prices were commensurate with quality. If anything, we get the better deal.
