Mexico Restaurant — Restaurant in Mount Pleasant

I think they have some really good street tacos I like their shredded chicken better than any i've had in longview, tyler, klgore or gilmer... BUT... their customer service skills leave a lot to be desired and why advertise you have a menu item if you NEVER have the menu item available (Horchata)?

I typically order through the drive through. Once the girl at the windows suggested I call ahead; all well and good IF they answer the phone... the last time I did call in my order for shredded chicken tacos, corn tortilla cilantro only, i get to the window and the young guy asks what I want; I told him I called in an order; I reminded him what the order was since he had a blank look on his face. I asked him if the tacos had onion, he said yes; i said i won't take them if they have onion... he says, just a minute. A couple of minutes later he takes my credit card and hands me a receipt to sign for $22.00 - I said for 2 street tacos? He said "you only wanted tacos?" yes... that's what i ordered - just 2 tacos; he has two large dinner boxes in the bag, but he goes back and a few minutes later comes out with one small box and the receipts; the refund charge and the new charge .. I leave without checking the tacos... turns out they were chicken (not shredded) loaded with onion and cilantro... ugh...

the day before that, I ordered at the window, again 2 tacos, shredded chicken, cilantro only, on corn tortilla. I waited 10min. The girl comes to the window and asks me to pull ahead so the car behind me can order (they never have the car in front of me pull ahead so that i can order...) so i do. 14 minutes later (now a total of 24 min) i call them and ask if I am supposed to come in for my order, she assures me they will bring to my car. 5 minutes later, the car that ordered BEHIND me, gets their order and leaves. I've waited 32 minutes now - so i get out of my car to go in and inquire about my tacos, and the girl comes out...

and don't ask for anything special; I called one morning on my way to work; asked if they make breakfast tacos; she said yes. I asked for an egg/chorizo taco on CORN tortilla. She says no, we only have that in a burrito. I asked if they have corn torillas for burritos since i'm allergic to the flour tortilla.. she said no. I asked if they could put it on the corn tortilla. she said no. I'm thinking she should have put it on the corn tortilla and charged me for the burrito price - i would have paid, they would have made a bigger profit and we would all be happy -

but truly I don't think they care if the customer is happy... they figure if the food is good enough, people will...

To start off with the service is extremely atrocious do not go if you want service then you get an overpriced meal overpriced drinks under delivered everything when I say that you could cook a carne asada inside of an easy bake oven better than these people there's no line there I'll put money on it no appetizers no kids menu do not think you're going to get anything here other than a hole in your wallet I do not know how the place is still in business definitely does not deserve 4.2 stars at all breakdown of receipt will be put on here but when you're charging $12.40 for just a cheese quesadilla for a kid that's ridiculous then you're going to charge $14.47 for a carne asada that's about less than a quarter inch thick and covered in jalapenos I like jalapenos You ain't going to outspice me but really you didn't even season the damn thing you just burn it to hell and back The refried beans and rice was the best dish of the day that's saying something chips were terrible think as hell if you got bad teeth don't eat here just going to break them there is no excuse for the prices the service and the extremely under seasoned food Don't get me started on the beef fajitas they were just as thin as the carne asada let's just say I could have chewed on a piece of boot leather and it would have actually been better and more pleasant than the carne asada and the beef fajitas chicken fajitas let's go there now thin extremely thin slices of chicken maybe a quarter of a breast if you're lucky and to top it off it was so dry because they overcooked it so damn bad seriously I don't understand where the taste buds come from to give this place a 4.2 stars I cannot harp on it enough if I could give it negative stars it would be at a negative 10 because I guarantee you I can cook better with an easy bake oven do not waste your time drink prices $3.63 a piece so 5 drinks is $18.15 just for drinks ridiculous no appetizers no nothing if you want refills on anything you have to ask yourself by going up to the counter and catching a staff while they're there do not...

Ok food.. but service is 1 or zero... I called to place an order they pickup the phone..but no-one answer so far I have been waiting 30 mins listening to all their conversation... so if you called several times and seems to be busy or that no body pickup the phone.. this is why... the pick up the phone but not exactly to get your order.... so I decided to do a 3 way call and called la fogata placed my order their while we keep listening to the conversation at Mexico restaurant... when pickup my order at la fogata came back home.. and still waiting on the phone for someone to answer.... I guess owner is not interested to take orders...
