Ordered 1 qt mixed vegetables, 1 quart Gen. Tso's Chicken, 2 egg rolls, 1 pt fried rice. $25 Ordered in store, took 5 minutes (seriously). Both chicken and vegetables were mushy and in bland, brown sauce. Vegetables don't go mushy in a pan in 5 minutes. I'm guessing they did too much sitting around partially prepared. Been casually sampling Chinese restaurants in Brodheadsville, Tannersville, and Mt. Pocono since I moved here 2 years ago. This place has the highest rating in a 10 mile radius (including 3 stars from two local guides), and from what I got I cannot see why. It's the first place I haven't liked, whose food I ate just to not waste it. Can't say "worst" if you haven't tried them all, but this place is bringing up the rear. This area is saturated with Chinese places. To say one is better than another is splitting hairs. Really. Differences are subtle. Sides are nearly identical (just order egg rolls and fried rice, haven't had a bad order yet!). They're all okay, so when you see one better rated than the rest in that area, you expect better, not worse!
The two that stand out to me so far are Star Garden and Wing Hwa...
Read moreAt Five Star II, the culinary experience is nothing short of exceptional, a harmonious blend of flavor and tradition. The Chicken Lo Mein was a delight—each bite was savory, with tender chicken pieces and perfectly stir-fried noodles, balanced with a medley of vegetables. The richness of the sauce lingered on the palate, elevating the dish to a new level of satisfaction.
The Pork Fried Rice was robust and hearty, a perfect accompaniment. Every grain of rice was imbued with flavor, and the tender pork pieces added depth to this fulfilling dish.
The Pork Fried Wontons, while flavorful, had a slightly firmer texture than expected. Despite this, they were still enjoyable, with a crispy exterior and a savory filling.
The Egg Roll was simply scrumptious. Crispy on the outside and packed with flavorful vegetables, it was the perfect start to the meal.
I wholeheartedly recommend Five Star 2 for anyone seeking a delicious and satisfying meal. Whether for a quick lunch or a relaxed dinner, this spot promises to deliver a true taste of...
