⚠️ Buyers beware, during a packed night on valentines day yesterday I noticed the pepper chicken my girl had on her plate was undercooked and raw, after she ate a bite. I proceeded to notify the staff and they immediately began to lie to my face making excuses for the raw meat. Told me it was from a "red sauce" in the way it was cooked. The pepper chicken is just grilled chicken with pepper added, if it was pink colored it was a result of being undercooked and raw, I have cooked enough chicken to know what cooked white meat should resemble and that chicken was raw. The establishment will be reported to the Montgomery County health department as I am not the only customer who has had undercooked food there, previous review in past 4 months proves my point as that other customer had food poisoning from eating their food. On the way to our reserved hotel for the evening my girl made me pull over because she had to puke after what little amount of raw meat she had consumed. If the health department does not interfere, I will return to this business standing out front with my own sign to warn other customers of my experience in order to prevent others from being food poisoned by this unsanitary restaurant establishment. Just because the restaurant is packed with customers does not mean they should allow undercooked food to be added to the buffet for people to eat because they wanted to get food put out quicker. What a waste of money and an absolute disgusting business practice, I should have made the owner eat that chicken to prove my point right then and there, food was raw and if I wasn't in such shock I would have taken pictures as evidence. I bet a health inspector will shut the place down if they enter their kitchen, I will see to it that by God's grace that is the outcome, otherwise I will be standing outside to warn everyone in town not to eat there unless they want to get sick from the price gouging and undercooked raw food they knowingly sold...
Read moreI only gave one star because it is required. As I read the reviews here, I am wondering the same thing I wondered last night, as I sat almost elbow to elbow with overweight gluttons stuffing their faces with some of the most disgusting, overcooked, tasteless, overpriced food I have ever encountered. The last time my family ate at City King, was about 3 years ago, before it burned, it was greasy and disgusting then, we decided we would never return. I guess with a nice new building, we were under thinking, and took a chance on it last night. My husband could not even chew the ribs, my kids attempted to eat their chicken on a stick, it was so tough they could not chew it. My youngest son likes the cinnamon bread roll things...they were so hard, that we could not even break them. The buffet line was dirty, riddle with old food and finger prints. I could smell the bacteria already. The waitresses were rude. There is no "sushi" in this restaurant, it is all fake crab meat. The closest it gets to sushi, is it is at least wrapped with seaweed paper. I do not understand the positive reviews, I came to a conclusion a long time ago that in this region, people will eat most any crap, and call it good. I know all "Chinese" restaurants around here are NOT authentic Chinese foods, but the one in Morehead is at least good, clean, and cooked perfectly. My husband spent 68 dollars for 2 adults and 3 children--we only made one trip to the buffet. We should have refused to pay, but instead learned a lesson, and I vowed to write as many reviews as possible. Fool us once, shame on you, fool us twice---well...lesson learned. Save your money folks, and your...
Read moreAfter eating st City Kinga approximately 5-7 times since it's reopening, I've decided I will most likely be returning to the Asian Buffet in the Gateway Plaza. While the food at City King is good, it's not worth it to deal with the rude employees. On 2 separate occasions we have been heckled about 2 or 3 pieces of sushi that we left on our plate that we did not eat. I understand not being wasteful, but it's hard to know which sushi you will like and dislike, so I may occasionally leave a couple pieces that I didn't like. DO NOT DO THIS HERE. You will be interrogated about why you did not eat all the sushi and on one occasion, they even yelled across the room to abother waitress with a comment about the sushi on our plate. Today, when my wife asked for spicy mayo to go with our sushi the told her it was in the bottle labeled "yum yum" sauce, it wasn't. So when I went to ask for some, I was told the same thing. That spicy mayo and yum yum are the same... I japanese/Chinese on a weekly basis, I know the difference. Finally I got another employee to get it for me. Lastly, the waitress so came by to get our empty plates and we told her we weren't finished, about 10 minutes later when we were getting up to leave, the waitress said "I just asked you a few minutes ago if you were done and you said no, but you have ate nothing. I could've taken the plate then." So.... 2 stars because the food is good.... employess,...
