Last night: Was not impressed with the new bar manager. I was told they were almost out of a certain beer at the beginning of the night, but they would go and get a draft of it from the other bar. Then, when they ran out of bottles, she refused to go to the other bar to get the same beer. There wasn't a crowd, so I was unsure why she couldn't go to the other bar to grab a beer like she stated she would at the beginning of the night. Update: Apparently, I should have waited til tomorrow to leave a review. Because now that I decided to order a different drink, I was refused due to this review. Bartender stated she didn't feel comfortable serving me anymore because she didn't know if I was drunk. I wasn't, and for the price they charge for beer, you can't afford to get drunk there. $5 a bottle and $6 a draft. I come here a lot but after last night I dont know if I will return. Which is sad because I'm not a fan of bars, and I enjoy listening to the bands they book. There are some other issues that have been mentioned to staff but still have not been fixed. The bathroom sink had no hot water. One of the sinks in the female bathroom hasn't worked for years, and when there is a crowd, the line gets very long because there are only 3 stalls and 1 running sink. If there is another bathroom, I would recommend putting signs up. As I stated earlier, I attend events here a lot, and there is an ongoing issue with keeping...
Read moreMy daughter and I went to go see a Pink Floyd tribute band named Echoes of Pompeii at the Granada theater. The experience was top notch from start to finish. The classic architecture has been preserved and is a delight to see. The sound system, on the other hand, is state of the art and sounds awesome! We had seats up by the stage, but I don't believe there is a bad one in the house. The large bar in the back was well staffed and we did not have to wait very long at all for drinks, even during intermission. I cannot recommend this venue enough for anybody that loves live music, truly a gem of...
Read moreThe Granada is coming back to life in a big way. It’s a great place to host your event or party right now. I can’t wait to see some great entertainment in the Mount Vernon area instead of having to travel to St. Louis or elsewhere. This place is going to be incredible once the restoration complete! The bar is a 1930’s Art Deco style bar purchased locally and restored to practically new. It’s gorgeous! I’m excited to have the Granada Theatre. We are so lucky to have a place like this to go for...
