Wife and I went there at suggestion of our hotel manager. We were looking forward to a couple beers. There is no beer menu so the server rattled off about a dozen tap beers so fast we could not hardly follow her. So we ordered Bud Lights. Asked for a glass. Server nodded but never provided a glass during the visit.
Ordered the bruschetta. It came out fast and was fantastic. Maybe the best I have ever had. It was served without plates. So we wiped the crumbs off onto the floor when we were done. I saw others doing this as well.
For main course, wife ordered a smash burger with fry’s and I ordered a patty melt with “house seasoned” chips. Wife’s burger was delivered without the fry’s. (They came later). My chips were not seasoned at all. They were just std chips out of the bag. Also, my patty melt is described as coming with thousand island dressing on it. It had none of this. But the patty’s were both really good. Oddly, the silverware that is provided is only a fork. So cutting the sandwiches in two is not possible.
I drank my initial beer before the main course was provided. The server never asked if I would like a second beer.
The restaurant seemed to be adequately staffed for the seven tables of patrons. The facility is fresh and new. There is a slight upscale vibe. It’s a nice facility inside and outside.
Sadly, the staff seems without customer engagement or close management. The young woman that served us seemed to not want to be there or understand what makes a good dining experience.
My bill for the two of us was a little over $70 for two hand held sandwiches, four beers, and an appetizer.
With that said. I would probably go back because the food was pretty good and it is convienient to the hotel. I would give them a second chance with the hope that time will heal the poorly executed kitchen and...
Read moreI was thoroughly impressed by this establishment. Dont judge a book by its cover because if we had, I feel we would have missed out on great food. The outside looks like a small house so my wife and I almost turned around and left. We thought, surely this place doesnt have enough room to accommodate patrons.
Even though it is smaller inside, i felt we had enough room at our table even as we were seated right next to the entry door. The waitress was friendly, attentive and knowledgeable. There were some reviews my wife read about poor service and long wait times, however, we did not experience any of that.
Menu was simple and quick. I had the Hawaiian cordon bleu and it was a large size burger, definitely enough to fill me up. I will say the house chips are too salty. I continuously had to drink water. I imagine i could request no salt, so i will try that next time.
Its a pretty basic setup, i was surprised when my drink was brought out in a red solo cup, but hey, its all good. Same goes for the silverware- they are pre packaged plastic utensil sets in a container on the table. Guessing they dont have a dishwasher, also judging by the haziness of the plastic cup which was brought with my beer.
We ordered corona but they were out ( not sure why). Settled on modelo and i expected to see a bottle come my way but it was a 16 oz can. Sort of felt like i just left the liquor store.
Overall i would highly recommend. A few kinks yes but the outstanding service and food will keep me coming back. They are also currently building a new facility next door, so i would guess it will get more space on the inside.
I did read stuff about reservations, we walked in on a Tuesday around 7 and had not problem getting a...
Read moreThe food has been very good every time we have had dinner at The FourNine. The service is always friendly and attentive. So, the chef and the front of the house is great. The problem we have is the wait times for the food to come out of the kitchen. We gave ourselves an hour and fifteen minutes to order and enjoy our meal here. Ordering our drinks and then ordering our food took about ten minutes. That seems about normal or maybe even a little fast for a nice sit-down restaurant. After our order was given (no appetizers, just two meals), our food took fifty-five minutes to arrive at the table. That made the meal stressful. We only had ten minutes to eat and pay the bill because we had somewhere we had to be. Again, the food is fantastic! The wait staff was really great. This is a restaurant with great food and a nice atmosphere. I just think people need to know they run the kitchen like an upscale restaurant that expects you to come in for a two hour leisurely, conversation filled, enjoy the evening, meal with friends or work colleagues. You cannot go here expecting to enjoy an evening meal before a movie, concert, class, or event. The food service just...
