Mi Casa is a new restaurant with a lot of positive things going for them, but there are a few minor nitpicks too. First off the restaurant and bathrooms are clean and modern looking. The furniture looks new. The overall decor is somewhat sparse. Given the fact the floor is cement with few decorations on the walls, the restaurant is pretty quiet. The background music became a tad bit repetitive and a little loud but we were seated under a corner speaker.
Upon entering the restaurant, there was no one to greet us initially. Since this was our first visit, we didn't know the seating protocol: wait or seat yourself. We waited but our wait wasn't too long. Once seated, our service was excellent. The server was upbeat, friendly, and gave us ample time to look over the menu and checked on us several times during the meal.
Since I love fajitas, I tried the chicken fajitas. The fajitas were hot and tasted very good. The dish was seasoned but not quite seasoned enough to my liking. Unfortunately there was nothing on the table other than salt to remedy that. The sides that came with the fajitas were okay but nothing memorable. Both myself and my wife felt the rice tasted bland and dry. We didn't finish the rice. My nitpick with the fajitas was they weren't "singing." What I mean is I like to see fajitas come to the table trailing hot steam and sizzling loudly as I have in other Mexican restaurants. My wife ordered a chicken dish served with a combination of roasted colorful veggies and peppers that she thoroughly enjoyed with the exception of the aforementioned rice.
Would we return a second time? Yes. The overall experience was a positive one and Mi Casa will find their stride. My hope is they add a few more seasoning options, serve "singing" fajitas (in my case), and find a way to improve the sides that will elevate them above the other Mexican restaurants...
Read moreI’ve never seen Mexican chicken look so white—zero seasoning. My Arroz Con Pollo even had a Kraft Singles cheese wrapper in it, and the cheese tasted exactly like white Kraft Singles. Absolutely disgusting. The food was flavorless, lukewarm, and the drinks were gross and misleading. Our fajitas weren’t even sizzling because the waitress took too long to bring them out—she was too busy talking on her phone. The restaurant has no decor, awful fluorescent lighting that gave me a headache, and the owner was aggressively in customers’ faces while they were trying to eat. Many of my friends have also said this place is terrible. I will never be back, and...
Read more6/19/25 good but not great! The chicken fajitas nachos are made a little different than most restaurants, they used chili peppers instead of bell peppers and the chicken was big stringie pieces. The chili Rellenos were open face hamburger! As far as the atmosphere goes i felt like I was sitting at a table in the middle of a gymnasium! The waitress was helpful with the menu and she hustled her butt off. Good salsas and I really like having individual bowls instead of one bowl for everyone. The meals need a little more flavor and i had a tostada base chip that was inedible because of the taste and you couldn't cut it...
