Los Amigos Mexican Restaurant — Restaurant in Mountain View

UPDATE: 4/7/24 What a good difference. Service Sunday night was much better than last experience about 6 months ago. Service with smiles from the waitress, food delivered hot and right away. The chili relleno was very good and the combo plates were full. Served by what also appeared to be a manager. Also, this is big for me: on the menu it clearly states imitation crab unlike so many restaurants that say it's crab, but it's not. Do I prefer real crab? Of course! BUT most restaurants aren't honest enough to say it's imitation, and Los Amigos is honest about it. Good experience this time, so raised the rating. The only things I would suggest is the women's restroom needs some improving/repairs and the enchiladas need some Mexican spice/s.

10/27: I get things can be busy, BUT a 40-min. wait, no apology or explanation, and served cold enchiladas was not good at all. Servers, be friendlier and talk with your guests when there's an issue. After 30 min., one waitress said, "Oh, it's gonna be a while but it's coming," then walked away. Wow! I would've sent the food back to get warmed up, but I had a plane to catch in Springfield. Training for all serving food is a MUST. I've been here several times and the food is usually good, but the service is lacking. Is this...

I used to recommend this place to friends that came in from out of town but I won't anymore. They have continuously gotten worse lately, the last time I was in there the waitress asked if we were ready to order right after we sat down and before we could look at the menus then made us wait 20 minutes after we said we were ready to order to actually take our order. She didn't refill our empty drinks, charged us extra for the salsa that came with the chips and made us wait around 30 minutes to bring us our bill after she gave us to-go boxes. I've never walked out of a restaurant before getting the bill but I was so tempted that time, you just can't make a family with young kids wait forever on everything. It wasn't crowded at all and they had 3 waitresses but most of the time not a single one of them was on the floor, I've never seen a restaurant where the employees are hardly ever even in the dining area, I couldn't even ask for my bill because no one was around.

margaritas are good!!! been several times and tried several items and for the most part they have been pretty good. salsa is kinda bland and if you want a spicier option (even when they make it sound like they are giving you a "taste") they charge you. They always "offer" things but you need to watch out because every little add on is charged for and is not cheap and you aren't quite sure because you can only even slightly understand maybe 2 or 3 people who work there. Husband is less forgiving and won't go back. He had a very soggy taco salad and ordered a dish once that was supposed to come with what they consider a salad (lettuce, tomato, sour cream...). They didn't bring it. He asked for it and then they charged us for it as a separate dish. They are very much penny wise and...
