I was there for the APWA Silicon Valley Project Awards event. After what I experienced, I would steer clear from this embarrassment of a venue. The service, if it could even be called such, was abysmal. All of our dishes were pre-ordered and yet they managed to run out of certain dishes. I didn't even get anything to eat until after the ceremony was concluded despite having called the attention of servers 5 times, and letting them know. When I was finally served, it wasn't what I originally ordered, as they had run out. By this time it was practically time to leave, this was on a business day. I had but a few bites to determine the roast beef was pretty dry and underseasoned, The grilled vegetables were passable at best, and the mixed rice was probably the strongest player on the team. I later learned that the original menu item for roast beef actually came with mashed potatoes, so I guess they ran out of that too. Thank god this was a company sponsored event, or I would be furiously demanding a refund. If its not clear already, this experience was beyond bad, and I would not suggest anyone support this establishment with their dollars. I certainly will not, and encourage others to avoid it as well. It's...
Read moreIt is September 2022 and I just went to this restaurant. I used to love the food but I'm guessing it is a new owner or manager. The menu has a fraction of the menu in the past. The food is mediocre at best. My Asian chicken salad was fresh and looked nice but the taste was odd. My wife had a corn beef sandwich which was about as plain as can be. Not a bit of condiments such as lettuce. Just meat on bread. They no longer offer the bread options of the past. Same thing with my friends turkey sandwich; white bread a little turkey and nothing special. It wasn't bad, just not worth going back.
Went back to the restaurant in February 2023 cuz I wanted to see if maybe it was just a bad day. It wasn't, everything I said above still exists. Exists. I asked for a bacon lettuce, avocado tomato sandwich and they said it wasn't on the menu. But they agreed to make it for me. It was awful. Exactly what I wrote above. Plain, no taste. Like the first time they...
Read moreMichaels really is the fusion of a disappointment and a citywide embarrassment. It sells itself as the classy American county club where golfers and park visitors can enjoy a brunch or a burger, looking into the vivid green, while in reality delivering an unacceptable and frankly pathetic dining experience.
There is zero style in the dining room decor, and the outdoor seating area is full of trash, cobwebs, and bird poop. The staff can be very uninterested and inattentive, even if the restaurant is nearly empty. Meanwhile the food is unimpressive and lacks any creativity, while also managing to be overpriced.
If you are looking to eat something in this area, Lakeside Cafe is a better option. However, better still is driving the 5 minutes to Cucina Venti on Shoreline and Pear Ave, or, for a more casual place with great...
