Makes me so sad to do this review. We have loved this place for years. We make special trips and drive an hour to just eat here several times a year and did so last night. It was busy so we went in and stood there for a bit. Normally whenever we go we walk in and are told to just sit where ever we want. We hesitated since it was busy, but there was one two person table and no other people with just two. So after about 5-7 minutes we did like normal and started to walk to the two person table. Only then did the owner decide to speak to us and proceeded to yell at us very loudly and tell us in a very rude manner and again yelling so much that everyone that was in there literally stopped what they were doing and turned to look at us. I was so embarrassed. I hate people looking at me especially in public. We did not respond bad my husband just said "ok we didnt know" and I was like I cant stay in here with everyone looking at me. So we left. We are nice people, tip well, have always loved coming here, used to LOVE visiting, especially with the dad who passed away years ago, but we did nothing to deserve being yelled at. IDK really dont understand. Have always loved this pizza and recommended it so many times but I am just not someone that understands treating people this way. Proceed with caution or call your pizza in to go or you might be totally ignored and then made to feel stupid when you ask for help or walk to a table like you have many...
Read moreTommy’s is in a converted house, which is fine, but the vast majority is taken up by the kitchen and other supporting spaces, the dining room is surprisingly small.
Decor and vibe is decidedly retired hippie, which is cool, but could be updated. I checked up the barbecue and the pizza and was more impressed with the pizza.
Pizza was fresh from a woodfired oven, and while the crust is not my favorite style, It was very tasty with fresh ingredients and well made
The ribs I got were over cooked, but it was a Sunday evening and I can overlook that as they had probably been cooking all day.
Beans and cornbread were and eclectic recipe and was not my favorite, but I’m sure some people find it an interesting and tasty take on these barbecue staple sides.
Pete about $40 for a shared barbecue plate and shared small pizza, which I thought was very pricey honestly, but would probably return for the pizza the next time...
Read moreI have NEVER had a bad pizza, until Tommy's. My mom and two children and I ate at the HIGHLY recommended pizzaria and were so disappointed. My children love pizza too and usually get larger sizes than personals but i decided we needed to stick with the smalls it being our firat visit. Im glad we did because none of us ate more than one small piece. It was made up of mostly tasteless, stale bread. So gross. I may have just scraped the toppings off to eat but it wasnt even worth that. You are given a small to-go style cup with "refills on the house" - as long as you make them yourself at the soda machine. To make matters worse, we got 3 personal pizzas and an appetizer, my mom got a bbq plate and our check was $77!!! There were several other eateries I noticed on our way. This one will definately never be on our list again. Sad we wasted our one "night out" meal on our short...
