First time eating at famous Dave's and that was the last time I will eat at this place. I placed the order online because my husband didn't want to go inside and sit down for dinner. They had this dinner online which includes, ribs, chicken, brisket, coleslaw, beans, fries, and corn muffins. I knew that would be enough to feed the family and I also added on a side of fried chicken tenders and a side of fried cod. The whole meal came to$80. That was to feed a family of four. Now normally that's kind of expensive to go out to eat I think but, since it was a new place we were trying for the first night I figured we would splurge a little. Of course my husband was upset that I spent that kind of money on dinner. So we pull up to pick up our order and there's about ten cars in the parking lot. My husband says they're not busy this food is not going to be very good. I said give it a chance.we walk in there's nobody at the counter were standing there for about 5 minutes before we're even noticed. We give our name and they have our food sitting waiting. But instead of it waiting on something warm they have it on a bread rack. And they have it wrapped like you would be giving a cheese platter away. It was on a plastic round platter plate and tied up in a clear plastic cellophane gift wrap. Which is great for dry foods like 🍞 bread or 🧀 cheese platter. You would think they would at least have it in tin so that the food stays warm. So we bring it home when I unwrapped it each one of us takk a little bit of just to taste it. Their so-called whole rack of ribs consists of six ribs which were just okay. The chicken was not cooked all the way I had blood, when it came closer to the Bone. The coleslaw was at least edible I have had better at Manny's diner in Clark. The corn was old. The food was cold, maybe if they use the tin at least the food would have been hot, the only thing that was good out of the whole meal was corn muffins. And that's definitely not worth $80. I would have had a better meal going to BBQ's in Clark at least I know the food is good and fresh. At BBQ in Clark the Prices are excellent with the amount of food that you get. Not worth my money or time it took me to drive and pick up food from Famous...
Read moreI ordered for delivery so I can't say much about the service or atmosphere but I've placed several delivery orders from this place usually totalling around $50. In the past the food has been amazing and perfectly cooked even with the 5 mile drive for delivery. I'm not sure what happened this time around but I couldn't even finish it. I got the Pick 3 combo with the smoked jalapeno cheddar sausage, brisket, and Southside Rib Tips. As much as I like a little char on my BBQ both sausages were straight up dry and burnt. I couldn't enjoy them even just trying to eat the good parts around the charred parts it was so disappointing. The brisket was the worst part. It was dry and tasted like salty ham and the texture was so bad like they cut it the wrong way or something. It was literally crumbly. Normally it's been juicy and perfectly fatty and almost melts in your mouth but I ate like 2 pieces before I had to throw in the towel. Not even their BBQ sauce could save it. They usually give you a piece of bread with the meal which I appreciate to soak up the juices (which there were barely any this time around everything was that dry). Usually I've gotten one of the middle slices of loaf, and I know the ends of the loaf have to get used at some point but because of the disappointment of the rest of the meal I was even more disappointed to find it was an end piece. Not only that but it was stale! The Southside Rib Tips were the best part about the meal but it was also my first time having them and I tried them last so idk if the rest of the meal just made them seem that much better. Even the baked beans just weren't that great this time around..watered down and not as smooth. Anyways I've always order the pick 3 from them and it's always been so good..but this time around it really felt like a huge...
Read moreWe were a party of 14 people, and the service was just okay. At first, I felt it was too much for a large group to have only one person taking care of us. My family appreciated that she spoke Spanish since they were visiting the country, but most of us are fluent in English.
To make a long story short, we ordered desserts with ice cream. The person assisting the waiter ( just delivering the desserts) said he would bring back some spoons. After five minutes, one of the guests from our table stood up to look for help because the ice cream was melting and there were no spoons available. He said "cuchara" in Spanish, but the waiter simply responded that he didn’t speak English and left.
When he returned, we clearly stated in English that we needed spoons, but nothing happened. My husband then approached another staff member and asked if we could please have spoons, explaining that we had been waiting for ten minutes. He assured us that they would be out soon, but more than two minutes passed before our original waiter appeared again with the spoons. She was unaware that we were still waiting for them. A few minutes later, she returned and said that nobody had understood our request for spoons, despite it being clearly communicated in English. Are you serious? What kind of service is this? This is a restaurant where the majority of the guests are African American or Hispanic, and we respected the fact that we needed to use English. We didn't do it while we were placing ur orders because the waiters offered to speak in Spanish for the four people at our table who didn't speak the language, as they were on vacation. This was...
