My wife and I are both East Coast people (she's from NY, I'm from Philly) who are picky about pizza, so when we saw this place open in this space in our neighborhood, we walked Uptown and gave it a try. We loved the simple, no-frills menu, the way it should be, focused mainly on NY-style pizza with basic, no-nonsense toppings, though they make a very nice, simple Sicilian as well.
The crust is amazing -- somebody there knows how to make the dough the right way. It's the right kind of chewy and the slices fold without breaking (this is really important). The sauce is simple and tasty. We agreed that it reminded us of being back home.
All in all, this was a refreshing experience of simple, good pizzeria dining without the bloated menu of 50 things that are not done well. My wife and I both agree that this place is well-named....

The dough is a bit dense and lacking air but still has a decent crunch to it. The sauce is fine, cheese is fine. The pies are made well. Just be careful buying specialty slices (like Sicilian and whatnot) as they will sell the same old dry slices all day long until they are gone…if you’re eating a slice of Sicilian pie at 7pm, just be aware that you are getting a slice that has been sitting there for 10 hours as the shop doesn’t do enough slice business to accommodate fresh...
