I went with my wife and mother as we'd been meaning to try the place for a while. You walk in and it immediately smells delightful.
The food was fantastic and fresh and the service was great - the fellow who waited on us I believe may have been the owner and he was very sweet, good-natured and funny, he spent time at each table talking and making jokes (it was a little slow as we came in the last hour before they closed).
My wife and mother had the buffet which they both said was very good and I had the rogan josh with the goat and thought it was fantastic.
My only minor complaint is I requested my food spicy and it was medium according to my receipt. But - I am about as white as a sheet and this is something I am used to eating at eastern restaurants, most of my kin do not do well with or desire spice. It is also very possible the server simply misheard me.
Whatever the case it's not at all worth giving the place any less than five stars. It is top notch and has that perfect homey family owned feeling with personable staff and great food. I really hope they succeed they really are a jewel in an area with only so many options for eating out....
Read moreI just had to take a moment to share my amazing dining experience at Sitar Indian American Buffet! 🌟 From the moment we walked in, the atmosphere was so inviting and vibrant. The decor really sets the mood for a fantastic meal! Now, let’s talk about the food! Wow! 😍 We went for dinner and the menu options are incredible – there was something for everyone! I tried a little bit of everything, and each dish was bursting with flavor. The tikka masala was creamy and just the right amount of spicy, and the naan was so fresh and fluffy! I could honestly eat it every day! The variety of options they had was impressive. I loved how they blended classic Indian dishes with some American favorites, making it a perfect spot for everyone in our group! To top it all off, the staff were super friendly and attentive. They made sure our plates were never empty, and their enthusiasm really added to the whole experience. If you’re ever in the mood for a delicious meal, I can’t recommend Sitar enough! You should plan a trip there soon – I promise...
Read moreI had no idea there was a new Indian restaurant in the area (let alone Lakeland in general) so it was a very welcome surprise seeing them pop up on delivery apps. I ordered the chicken tikka masala (medium) and a variety of different naans (also a mango lassi for good measure). Every part of the order was amazing. Great sauce consistency, plenty of chunks of perfectly cooked chicken, and flawlessly fluffy rice.
I still think I liked the naan the best--first time I've heard of and tried bullet naan and it is definitely repeat worthy. All of the naan was repeat worthy actually, especially the kashmiri naan (you could totally accidentally order extra and use them to make fluffernutter sandwiches on your own later in the privacy of your own home and nobody will judge you but few will understand the majesty).
I haven't tried the Lunch Buffet yet but that looks extremely promising if it is even half as good as the Dinner takeout. I personally think the food here is much better than the mango...
