New China Chef — Restaurant in Mundelein

So, although their food I have to say it’s pretty good we have had four issues with this restaurant and I hope that you guys start to look at your receipts so what they are they’re all the same issues these people at new China Chef her name is Sue the owner in Mundelein Illinois is actually stealing money and the way that happens is because and I went in today even though I didn’t really want to because of the issues we had before but the food is good I went in today and I went to pick up for the first time OK sell my bill for pick up was $14.42 and I am all the sudden I got an alert on my phone while I was still in the restaurant waiting for my food to be ready and I got an alert for $17.30 so I did show Sue and she said no no screaming at me that I’m wrong I’m wrong I’m wrong it’s my bank so I called my bank and we went through it and all four times what they did was they automatically no matter what whether you pick it up will take 20% from you so when you look at your receipt it’s gonna show you the regular price that it should be but when you get your alerts from your bank $.20 will be out at 20% will be added onto it so my $14.42 20% of that is $2.88 and that’s how my bank got the charge from Sue at new China Chef for $17.30 so I’m just letting you knowI let her know while I was standing there and all she did was argue and fight with me and I got home and she argued and fought with me also so she’s stolen from me so far four times I am asking you guys to all just really take a look at your receipt because your receipts match it up with your bank statement if you’re gonna be paying with a credit card or a debit...

The worst experience I can recall. I walk in and order broccoli chicken dinner. The owner is sitting at register with her face buried in her cell phone; I finally got her attn & placed order. She entered info and I played, then her face goes back into cell phone.

I'm sitting there waiting for food, and since you can see and watch most kitchen activities, I see little change in the routine task that the cook was doing from when I walked in... 15 minutes go by and I asked her what's going on with my order, she jumps up & apologizes saying sorry she forgot! I'm thinking "no, you didn't forget; you just didn't want to drop whatever game or stuff she was playing with.

Now she runs back into the kitchen and I now we her and cook actually start preparing my order. I'm watching and see the rock go into the wok, the chicken, the misc veggies & sauce, but something doesn't look right.

She starts boxing the food and I take it home to eat. Opening the box, I realize that all I got was a large box of chicken and a few side veggies, but there was zero broccoli in it!

That's it for this restaurant with its self-centered owner. She is to busy playing with cell phone to bother making...

Kitchen does not look clean. (Not to sound hyper-critical), but if I see the kitchen where my food is prepared, it should appear moderately clean. Ordered Kung pao chicken. (See photo). Chicken with a red (almost ketchup-like) sauce. Very Odd smell. Noodles? Never had Chinese Kung pao with pud Thai noodles.

Honestly, I did not eat it. So I cannot give an honest review as to actual flavor. I threw it away. It simply did not look or smell at all palatable. I feel immoral “wasting” meat, and I do not want to seem harsh in evaluating this restaurant. But I cannot recall ever throwing away a Chinese dinner because the aroma turned me off...
