Los Magueyes Mexican Grill — Restaurant in Mundelein

Very disappointed, I used to frequent this establishment when they first opened due to its cleanliness great food and service but when I went there today I was shocked to find how unkempt the place was especially with the COVID-19 virus you would figure they keep it clean to draw customers in. First I noticed the door full of smudges and fingerprints which tells me they don't wipe it down second every table had crumbs one had a sweater that belonged to I'm assuming a workers young daughter there was a bag of chips at another table toys all over the place I understand not everyone can afford babysitters but at least keep the place clean for customers, third we sat down and as the waitress started wiping the table down she was not wearing a mask nor the cook that's when we decided to leave, I hope this place gets their act together cause they...

Felt out of place the moment I stepped in which is not common because I'm in a mexican restaurant one to two times a week. I ordered a combination burrito add guacamole dinner. I payed $22 for the dinner. That's insane. There is a place in the same plaza that I got the same meal from and it was $11. I felt like the lady didn't want me there after I started to ask why it's $22. Really liked the rice and the salsa Verde but the burrito was just so so. Way to expensive for it not to be the best burrito I've ever had. Would not recommend seeing you can go to like 20 other spots in the area that will be cheaper and much better. Good food and inexpensive. I had the choriqueso burrito and was quite pleased. Relative to some of the other local Mexican establishments it certainly holds its own on flavor but does have a more limited menu. Perhaps this will expand as time goes by.

However, I'd highly recommend this restaurant for the murals regardless of food as the artwork is impressive. Find an excuse to use the bathroom and peruse the full gallery which continues down the hall and even into...
