Fox's Diner munhall — Restaurant in Munhall

Every time I eat here, I am struck by the obvious fact that there is absolutely no reason, zero, for a top-caliber diner like this to be on Main Street, in Munhall. This is not the kind of comfortably-monied community that typically hosts an operation like Fox's Diner. Yes, Munhall's a great place, with great people, and that's why I live here. But a family place like Fox's is, these days, typically found in a much more affluent neighborhood with far more foot traffic and a higher median income.

The food here is easily in every conversation about the top five diners in Allegheny County. The owner, Patrick Fox, is of local extraction and this restaurant is the product of a lifetime of work in diners sustained by a dream to run his own place. Fox's Diner is that dream made alive as an endless labor of love.

So get your family together and bring them down here for a taste of a great tradition come alive. If you think the prices should be more in line with a quick-service restaurant where every fifty-ingredient processed dish is shipped pre-cooked and packaged in plastic from a factory to the restaurant, then heated up in a microwave before it's trotted out to the table, go eat in a big chain. If I could give them 0 stars I would, I ordered for takeout and I ordered a grilled chicken salad, and chicken tenders and fries for my mother. I was called 10 minutes after I placed my order, for them to tell me they did not have salad and I had to substitute my whole order. I substituted my order for a chicken wrap and soup that was a side. I went and picked up my order and customer service from the waitress was very poor when she seen that I was a person of color. My whole order was paid for and I drove all the way home and they didn’t even have my soup in there. I had to drive all the way back to pick up my soup and not even an apology for the inconvenience. The food was mediocre, chicken tenders were hard and the soup was cold, wasn’t even worth my time. I just want to let people of color know that if you aren’t white you ain’t right when it comes to the Fox’s Diner in munhall. People of color stay far away...

I miss Falces..... The service is horrible in this place! The three tables they have in the front had people so we headed to the back. There was four tables there. One table had two other guest, one table had dirty plates all over it and the other two tables were clear but didn't look clean by any means. There was a gentleman who worked there sitting and talking with the two guest he said hey what's up sit anywhere you want as he sat and blocked what looked like the only clean table in the place. Turns out he is one of the owners. As he sat and talked to these two ladies about how he quit his last job and bought this place and how the cook is new and messes up a lot and how he feels like he could kill him sometime. He literally said I could kill him sometime. The food came and they finally decided to clean the dirty tables. It he food was good but I don't think it was worth suffering through...
