I need y’all to know that I’ve never left a review for a fast food restaurant in my entire life. Not even for Chick-fil-A. But I just had the best experience I could’ve ever asked for at this McDonald’s. Prepare for a rollercoaster of flowery language while I detail, what can only be described as, a life changing experience.
First, I opened my McDonald’s app. Then, I scrolled to the “Deals” section. My eyes were graced with a plethora of discounted options. In fact, there were so many that it took me 20 minutes to figure out which deal would satisfy my lunchtime craving. Once I settled on what I wanted, I placed my mobile order, and I headed to this McDonald’s.
From my previous experiences in Memphis, my hometown, I expected the same service. Disappointing. Stressful. Anger-inducing. I pulled into the parking lot bracing myself for disappointment. The all too frequent emotions began to fester, and my body prepared its “fight or flight” response. Psychologists call this a “trauma response.” I’ve been traumatized at many locations before. So, I braced for impact.
As I pulled into my curbside order parking spot, I noticed employees inside doing, what seemed to be, Olympic training exercises. Employees running to and fro. Hamburger buns and soda cups being frantically fashioned into order-specific bags. I immediately burst into tears because I thought the employees were in a brawl. No sooner than the first tear had fallen from my eyes did an employee come sprinting out the door with my order. She looked as a soldier prepared for war. She sprinted to my window, so I rolled it down. We didn’t speak for a few seconds. We made eye contact. It was as if time itself had stopped to greet us with angelic praise. Then, came the following words…
“Good afternoon, sir. Did you have the Big Mac and the 10-piece nugget?” I was speechless. I didn’t get yelled at. I didn’t get told the ice cream machine was broken. I was called “sir,” and the order she called out to me was correct. Struggling to find words, I simply responded, “Yes I-I believe I did. Th-thank you so much.” She gave me the order. The Big Mac was hot. The nuggets crispy. All was right in the world. But then I realized I’d forgotten to order fries.
My muscle memory lured me directly to the app, and I noticed ANOTHER deal for a free large fry. The best part? NO PURCHASE NECESSARY. I hastily ordered and made my way to the speaker to order. The man who answered was kind. He cracked jokes. He welcomed me with open arms. When I get to Heaven, I hope the angels greet me with similar energy.
As I pulled up to the window, the kind man said, “Good morning! Here’s your receipt for NO purchase!! Ahahahah.” Get it? No purchase necessary, but his amazing customer service skills obliged him to give me a receipt that shows I paid NOTHING for a large fry. He smiled at me. We locked eyes. We smiled. With all the sincerity of a parent sending their child off on his/her first day of school, he said, “Have an amazing day sir.”
I pulled up to window #2 to receive my order, but I almost wrecked. Why, you ask? Because my eyes were filled with tears. As I approached the 2nd window, my order was waiting. Ready. Perfect. The bag was perfectly creased. The arm motion to extend the fries to my open hand was flawlessly executed. The man smiled and said, “Here are your fries, sir.” I responded, “Thank you so much. But please, call me Joshua.”
I’m not one to be melodramatic, but this experience fundamentally changed the trajectory of my life. One day, I hope I can repay the kindness I was shown today at this McDonald’s. Believe it or not, I immediately called up my friends in Washington D.C., and we had an hour long conversation about my experience. They’re coming into town this weekend, and guess what they requested for lunch? You guessed it. McDonald’s. I felt seen. I felt heard. I felt validated. Thank you for blessing me with such a rejuvenating fast food experience. I don’t say this lightly, but…God bless you. God bless your families. God bless...
Read moreThis is the third time that I’ve ordered the cheese burger combo at this particular location and it’s the third time that there has not been one single diced onion on my cheeseburger which in my opinion is what makes McDonald’s cheeseburgers better than other fast food places. The first time I thought okay maybe they were just out of the tiny little diced onions for the cheeseburgers. Went back a couple weeks later and the exact same thing, not one single diced onion. So disappointed! Fast forward to several weeks later I made up my mind I wasn’t getting a cheeseburger because well no onions the last two times, so instead got a Big Mac, shocking there was hardly any special sauce on mine or my husbands Big Mac hamburger so needless to say to say it wasn’t that great at all either hardly any of the special sauce. So tonight same location I thought okay maybe third times a charm so I took a chance and got the cheeseburger combo again, get it home and for the third time absolutely not one single diced onion on either cheeseburger. Am I missing something, have y’all stopped putting the onions on the cheeseburgers for good or am I just the unlucky one that keeps getting the ones without onions. The little diced onions are what makes the cheeseburger so good. Well anyway it doesn’t matter that’s 4 strike outs so I’m done, I won’t be back, I work hard for my money and I will just spend it somewhere that puts all of the ingredients on the food that is supposed to be on there. I was patient and understanding never complained not once to anyone working there, but enough is enough. Not sure what the problem is, running out ingredients or just laziness in the part of the person making the cheeseburger but now it’s just not good. In the picture you will see not one...
Read moreAvoid ANY McGuire Management Mcdonalds in Murfreesboro (there are 9 of them). The fake "we care about your experience" or "we bought these locations to transform them to a solid Faith based operation " is pure tactics. There is nothing to support it in the roughly 17 months they have had to make these changes. Employees hate the ownership, dont respect them, and will gladly tell you about them of you listen or just ask. Do your homework, not a good choice to buy their way into our community and then treat us like idiots with smoke and mirrors. They are simply out for the profit and are not community leaders. BurgerIM, Sonic, now they take community seriously and dont just talk about it. Support those that support our youth and boycott these McDonalds. The only way to get their attention to treat, hire, and retain quality staff to stop all the rudeness, messed up orders, bad experiences is to hit this McGuire group (Jonathan) on their profit and loss statements. Let's force a SALE to ownership that cares!!!!...
