I focused on hot foods, because I think Dairy Queen meals are underrated, & usually not the first to come to mind when thinking fast food joints. The myth that the drive thru for hot foods takes "forever" is def not true, and quite he opposite! So I wanted to give credit where it is due, especially to compliment the great service standard of the Murrysville venue. Let's face it when have you ever gotten a poor tasting ice cream cone or sundae!
Best Advice: Don't be discouraged by a long line at the drive thru! Moves quickly while not compromise the accuracy of your order! There drive thru service exceeds my expectations every time! Excellent tasting & quality of food matched with pricing of combo meals- in range of Wendy's drive thru menu- makes this my family's favorite fast food meal by far!
Typical order: Cheese Grill-burger is a great choice & topped with crisp & fresh, never soggy, "cut days ago", lettuce, onion & ripe tomato slice, plus ample ketchup & mustard & the crunchy, thick, dill flavored pickle slices (x4) makes it stand out from other fast food burger joints! My family loves the chili cheese hot dog (or you can pick your own toppings) paired with the pretzel sticks that is accompanied by queso dipping sauce, at no extra cost. Dairy Queen queso is good for the whole family to enjoy! Made with enough kick to upgrade the flavor, but keeping the traditional ballpark cheddar taste we all have come to love!
Side Note: I do not like spicy food, so I was hesitant to order, but upon my first bite I was pleasantly surprised by the balance. Def would recommend, especially if grabbing a late dinner or snack!
Bonus Points: Fried foods are golden brown, flaky (never soggy) which tells me that fryer oil is changed regularly! Fried favorites are onion rings as a standard pick, right up there with cheese curds, nice change from basic french fries (but if you go the regular choice of fries with cheese sauce on the side of course!) Also, I like that servings of condiments/toppings are in good proportion; meaning enough to cover every last bite, but not sloppily made, & not overflowing & the bun allowing you to eat & drive if your own the go! Last, a must have for me these days, the burgers are grilled & patties are thick, almost seems gluttonous to order a double burger here at Dairy Queen!
Drive thru Experience: Employees are friendly, fast, knowledgeable of menu; for example if ordering several hot items they will recommend a combo deal, if offered, to decrease your total price! Honestly, I never received an order that was not accurate to my specifications. Again, I want to repeat, don't let the long line at drive thru put off eating at Dairy Queen for your next fast food craving! LOL Line moves quickly & steady wait time I would average approximately 2 minutes & pull off to during busy hours 41/2 minutes...
Read moreGetting a DQ cheeseburger used to be a treat! Today, the service was terrible, no smile or thank you at the drive thru, genuinely unhappy looking employees but still couldn’t wait for my cheeseburger.
Luckily I opened it in the parking lot before pulling away. There was wet pink juice on half of the wrapper, which was alarming. This led me to take a closer look at the burger and tear it in half. The meat was pink!
I took it back inside, gave it to a young lady who asked another young lady something and came back and said they would make another one for me. Great! But, no apology, nothing about the inconvenience.
The 2nd young lady, who was also the ‘cook’ had headphones on and also must have been working the drive thru, handed me my burger…again, no apology. I asked if she was the manager, she said she was; I asked if she had cooked the pink burger, she hadn’t. I asked if she saw the meat and the messy wrapper and she said “no, I made you another burger.”
I get it, you have teenagers working for you…great that there are still some that will work, but what is DQ’s protocol for handling undercook meat served to customers? Not a thank you for coming in, sorry this happened, would you like a refund or perhaps a small cone for the inconvenience. I’m not looking for a freebie and would t have taken a cone but a coupon for a free burger on a future visit…anything? Just a blank, smileless expression for patronizing a business. Sad!
Just an overall unpleasant experience all the way around. Sorry, DQ, won’t be back.
Just read all of the generic automated responses from the DQ ‘relations team’ for other problems. Oh well, the public will read the reviews and eat their burgers...
Read moreWe went last night after my nephews little league game. There were 9 of us and we all got blizzards. My fiance asked for chocolate ice cream in her blizzard. when the girl at the counter brought it over she set it down and immediately threw it away because she had made it with vanilla. Then she loudly complained that she hates it when people ask for chocolate ice cream because she always messes up. We had a coupon that she forgot to take off and we had ordered another drink that the girl must have forgotten but my fiance just wanted to get out of there. My mother and sister came out with the rest of the blizzards and also said how miserable the girl at the counter was. My nephews wanted to get food after but my sister said she wouldn't dare go back in that place. We won't be going back to this...
