Pete's Tap — Restaurant in Muscatine

Went here for a bar craw/surprise birthday party event this past weekend. For a smaller place, and for our larger crowd, I was concerned we would soon overwhelm the place, as often happens at small townie type places. Especially considering for our time there, one employee was wearing a lot of hats. Well, Travis (I think his name was) did an OUTSTANDING job. Complicated drink orders, mix and match sauces (they have like a hundred wing sauces and the wings are amazing!), appetizers, he got us everything we needed, fast and accurately.

Even the regulars sitting at the bar were super friendly on advising us on what appetizers and wing sauces were good to try. Not sure why everyone raves about this place. First time ordering and got food to go. I got 2 quesadilla burgers with 2 sides of fries and fried pickles. First of all it just says fried pickles on the menu so I was thinking the regular pickle chips, but received French fry like pickles? Never had a place serve it like that before but they were soggy. The 2 sides of fries were put in the same box and when asked why (because they were for 2 separate people) the lady was very rude and said that’s how they do it. Those fries we put in our air fryer because again completely soggy. The quesadilla burgers on the menu say they come with pico. Both burgers had a tomato slice on them instead with hardly any sauce and a couple pieces of lettuce. Not worth the over $30. Oh and it was a...

The sign is absolutely correct these people do have the absolute hands down honest-to-goodness best wings in town. And it's also kind of deceptive because from the outside this place looks like a dive but on the inside it's actually a really decent small-town bar. Get a couple different dipping sauces for variety, the wings are amazing! again...
