Five people was in our party. All five of our drinks were empty for over 20 minutes. The chicken had no seasoning. I added salt and pepper and that added some taste to the chicken. The chicken tasted like it was cooked in old grease or grease that was burnt.
Let's talk about the sides that come with the chicken. It is mandated that you get Coleslaw and baked beans. If you want a different side you have to pay extra. The taste of the 2 sides were below average.
There was a white male with glasses and chubby wearing a Auburn shirt. He was sitting at the bar and would get-up-and-go behind the bar and get himself a Coors Light. This person did that 2 times. That was very unprofessional and if it was an employee that was off duty they should act like a customer.
The customer service was so bad the bartender put the Alabama and Auburn game on the television then turned it and after asking to put the game back on, it took over 10 minutes to put it back on the television. What type of establishment would not have the biggest game on?
Reply back to the owner/manager. Here are the facts as they happened. (1) The party I was with had 5 people. All 5 people's drinks were empty at the same time. If you think that is good customer service then you should be fired and your business deserves to go out of business because you obviously do not understand what good customer service is. (2) The 2 sides that is mandated that you have tasted below average. (3) Your world famous chicken tasted burnt and had no taste of seasoning. The only taste that the chicken had was of grease that was old or grease that got too hot. (4) The customer that got up twice to go behind the bar to geta Coors Light x2 is breaking Alabama law. Maybe you should read the ABC rules and regulations. And if you do not realize it, that looks unprofessional. (5) What type of establishment does not put on the biggest game in the state of Alabama?
Let me teach you about customer service. This is how you should responded. Dear sir, I'm sorry that you had a bad experience at our establishment. We strive to serve the very best food and have the best customer service in the Shoals area. We gladly take our customers feedback and use the information to improve our products, service, and our processes. We ask that you return to our establishment one more time and we ensure that you will receive great customer service and great food. We look forward serving you again. Thank you for your feedback and we look forward to serving you in the future. If you would have done that, I would have gave it a try again and maybe change my review based on the outcome. My review should have been a learning opportunity.
Once again, let me clearly state that you do need to change for the following reasons (1) the chicken tasted of old grease (2) the customer service was bad, hence empty glasses for everyone at the table. The waitress came to the table several times but never filled our glasses.
A few people I've talked to about your establishment, everyone stated the exact same thing, "the food use to be good and so was the customer service but the food and the service has been going down". It is time that you look in a mirror and take inventory for what's going on in your business. You sir should be saying sorry for our bad experience at...
Read moreFirst time for everything! I called here on Wednesday at about 2 to place a large pick up order for 5 pm. When I got to the window to pick up the food I was told that they did not have my order. I told them I had called at around 2 and it was obvious that they did not believe me. They said they would make an exception and allow me to place my order (which I had already placed over 3 hours earlier) at the window. I was charged almost 80.00 and told I would need to pull up and wait. I sat in my car for a few minutes, then went in and asked to speak to the manager. The same girl from the drive through identified herself as the manager and I very professionally expressed to her that I felt this was poor customer service. I kept my voice low and made sure we were not overheard by other customers so as to avoid any embarrassment to the establishment. The lady from the drive through apologized again and I went back to my car. Over 20 minutes passed another person came out with my food, I helped put it in my car. As she stepped away she said "Oh, only one thing before you leave...don't you ever show your face in here again." I was stunned, thought maybe this was a joke so I asked "what?" She told me I had treated the staff badly, I told her I had been professional and polite and simply suggested some customer service training be given. She repeated "don't you dare show your face around here again, you are not welcome." I went home. I have reached out to the "customer service" team of Champy's and have been ignored. If you are looking for someplace for fried chicken might I suggest Popeyes? I would not recommend Champy's for their speedy service (not quick) nor for their stellar customer orientation. You might reasonably inquire how many establishments I have been banned from. In my 57 years during which I have been privileged to travel worldwide and patronize many fine places this is the first time I have ever been banned from...
Read moreI would love to have given five stars for the food. I will say that for a Sunday right after church, we were seated quickly, we were greeted by our server, who was frankly sweater then a peach cobbler, fairly quickly, but it took five ever for our meal to arrive. Probably some of the best fried chicken I've ever had. I ordered the livers and can honestly say they treated those livers with tender loving care. Momma would have been proud. But it was the sides where they failed. Maybe it was just me, but the mashed potatoes and gravy might as well have come from KFC because they tasted both instant and the gravy, canned. With so much emphasis on a delicious fried chicken, why not go the rest of the way and give me some country sawmill style gravy? I wanted real mashed potatoes, and those just tasted kind of boxed for me. I had an expectation and they left me wanting. The mac and cheese was better than most but still just not quite making it. As far as chicken goes I give them a 6 out of 5 stars. But it's got to be a complete package for me. And because something so classic as mashed potatoes and gravy with your fried chicken was so basic, I just couldn't go all the way on an overall rating. but I will be back and I plan to bring family there I just know not to order the mashed potatoes and gravy! LOL Finally, can I just say that from a price perspective spot on! It's so easy for restaurants to overcharge but we walked out for under 40 bucks with a tip at lunch including some key lime pie which was delightful. Hopefully the next time we go service will be a little faster. A final note or rather a suggestion, offer a portion option on the catfish, and how about some chicken fried steak! Also, try looking into chicken chips...
