My husband and I were in town staying at an Airbnb with adult daughter, her husband and daughter. We kept reading great reviews various platforms about Fatty Lumpkins. We wanted to go our first day but it was after 3:00 pm and they were already closed. So we arranged to go a different day. Parking was difficult as it's a small place with mainly street parking with a lot of houses around. But there's a parking lot across the street and down that we parked in. I think it's allowed, we weren't ticketed or towed. When we walked in it was a tiny "shack" just got ordering and a few tables for eating but it was full with very little room. We figured we were obviously getting our sandwiches to go. We had just come from a museum so I needed to wash my hands and there was a sign pointing me to a restroom. Wow, am I glad I needed to wash my hands. Through the door I was led to another building which had lots of seating, was super cute and quaint complete with a chest set and jukebox. Plus the restroom. Between the two buildings there were a few outdoor tables and chairs too. Obviously it's just the newbies who don't know these things but if you are like us and only in town for a quick trip or first time visit, it's nice to know these things. The sandwiches were all good. A great variety to choose from and an option to create your own. The names are fun too. The meat and cheese were fresh and the sandwich bread/bun was some of the best I've had for a sandwich in a long time. I love vinegar and oil on a sandwich and that's how they make theirs. Oh, so good. Now I know why they came so highly...
Read moreFatty Lumpkins is hands down one of the best lunch spots in Muskegon! We tried the K.C.’s Kickin’ Chicken and the Hammy Some Salami, and both sandwiches were incredible.
The Kickin’ Chicken had just the right amount of spice with the buffalo chicken, provolone, and veggies balanced perfectly by the creamy ranch—flavorful without being overwhelming. The Hammy Some Salami was stacked with quality meats, fresh toppings, and a great crunch from the peppers and onion. Both came on fresh bread that really made the sandwiches stand out.
The portions were generous, prices were fair, and you can tell everything is made with care. The atmosphere is cozy and welcoming, and service was fast and friendly. If you’re looking for a fresh, delicious sandwich in Muskegon, Fatty Lumpkins is the...
Read moreWe've wanted to try Fatty Lumpkins for awhile but the few hours they're open makes it difficult to visit. We finally tried them today and boy was it a disappointment. I would really like to see a receipt from Boars Head before I believe that its the meat that Fatty Lumpkins serves. The meat was tasteless and even the light rye bread was rather bland. The sandwichs are also rather dry so if you try them ask for extra dressing/sauce. They have very few side choices to choose from. I'm unsure how they have such great reviews unless they have had all their friends and family leave positive reviews. Two stars because the staff is friendly and very nice to interact with. Needless to say we won't be back and don't recommend. Fatty you Do Not live up...
