I just moved around the corner from House of China and was so excited to try for the first time. The reviews were so mixed but I figured it couldn’t go that badly! I was wrong though. It was possibly the worst food my boyfriend and I have ever had, and we’ve had some bad food over the years! The crab rangoons were the typical, frozen rangoons, so not terrible. I had to ask for the sauce for them though so would have been bummed if I didn’t. The potstickers were pretty good, but no sauce was included in the bag and since I didn’t ask for it, it wasn’t there. Of everything we ordered, those were the two items to not get thrown away. The hot and sour soup was absolutely horrific. I’m not sure if someone dumped sweet and sour sauce into the broth by accident, but it was disgustingly sweet, not at all hot or sour. It had a pink color to it too which was odd, but made sense once we tasted it. I’m hoping this was some kind of mistake, because otherwise I worry what their quality control measures are like. The sweet and sour chicken was soooo chewy and not at all crispy or fresh. The fried rice we ordered with it was very greasy, without any vegetables. Lastly, we got the Mongolian beef, paid extra for fried rice and got white. Not a big deal, but the quality of the beef was appalling. I needed a steak knife to hack through it and it had a grayish green color to it once you cleared off the sauce. To me, Mongolian beef has a thick brown sauce. This sauce was very thin and runny, a pale tan color, and once again sweet in flavor. The prices here might be tempting to try, but don’t. Try one of the other Chinese places in the...

Read moreI always give a location two chances to impress me. You never know from one incident and as a former chef, "things happen". The location is easy to find, the exterior looks a bit dated, the interior is a bit overwhelming with décor. Ordering over the phone from google maps information and menu was very easy. Ordered crab Rangoon (6), vegetable eggrolls (2), and small order of beef broccoli. This with an estimated time of ten minutes. Cost was good for quantity of food to comparable other places offering same cuisine. Staff was friendly and food was ready per the quoted time. FYI...This restaurant does not take credit/debit, so bring cash. Food was not bad but not to my liking. I have never had beef broccoli with so much brown gravy, as you could tell they used more than enough starch to thicken. Good amount of beef, but only four flowerets of broccoli and a lot of sweet onion. Flavor was good but not typical of other restaurants for the same dish. Two large scoops of rice accompanied. Crab Rangoon was very tasty and very crispy. Egg rolls were a little off in flavor from what I am use to,...
