My Place Bar-B-Q West — Restaurant in Muskogee

First you cannot ask for nicer people. I was placing a "to go" order and was greeted cordially by no fewer than 3 people. I enjoy supporting small business and friendly businesses. Second the food tasted good and I ate every bite. The only negative was how little beef is in their portion. I ordered sliced beef with sides of beans and fries. It came in one of those paper "boats" like a hot dog comes in. It was FULL of very tasty fries. The beans were in a small Styrofoam container with a lid and to my surprise, the beef was also in a small Styrofoam container. The beef was flavorful and fresh/hot and I didn't need any sauce to enjoy it. But I'm not a big guy and I wasn't full after I ate everything. Was in Muskogee for a visit to the VA hospital. After the visit we were looking for someplace to have a late lunch. My Place BBQ popped up in our search and had high ratings so we thought we'd give it a try. We were not disappointed. The menu was simple to understand. Our server, a young lady, came with our drinks quickly and answered a question my companion had. We ordered the ribs and two sides. To our surprise, our order came quickly and my fries were hot, not warmed over. My companions' fried okra was hot and very tasty, too. The ribs, they were excellent. Dry ribs by the way, not soaked in sauce. Not overly smoked, just right. Our server offered us drinks to go, we didn't have to ask for them, which was a nice touch to end an excellent lunch. We were seated and served immediately. I asked about an item that wasn’t listed on the menu and the waitress informed me it was available even though it wasn’t listed. Our order arrived quickly, hot and very delicious. Our waitress was Morgan and she was so very sweet and professional, checking in on us multiple times. We asked about a local event we were in Muskogee to attend and although Morgan wasn’t aware of the details of the event, when she returned to our table just a few short minutes later she had performed some research and gave us helpful directions to where we needed to go.
