Boomarang Diner — Restaurant in Muskogee

I was so excited to go to Boomarang as it had been a few years since my last visit to OK.I went two days ago. This location was a little more cluttered than the previous one I ate at, but no big deal. My husband ordered the chicken strip sandwich, fries and a tea. I had a burger, fries, and a tea as well. Everything tasted great, but I was a little thrown off by the ketchup in a tea pitcher on the counter, I used to work in a restaurant and that seemed like a big health department “no no”. Yesterday morning I woke up around 4am throwing up profoundly and was also going #2. At first I didn’t think I had food poisoning, until my husband started going #2 and used the toilet about 9 times by noon. I myself couldn’t stop throwing up until about 10pm last night. I know it came from here because this was the only place we both ate at and we ate separately for dinner. Will not be returning back to this location or any...

I don’t know to rate this diner a 5 for the yummy diner food or a 1 for the experience of what happened today. The breakfast is both delicious and a great value. We love the Pancake Special. You can close your eyes and choose classic diner food that is delicious. I am am an older white woman married to a beautiful and well mannered black man. We went to Boomerang Muskogee West twice this weekend. The service was great. Until…. The waitperson set down three bottles of syrup on our table with a smidge of syrup left in the bottom of each bottle. I thought nothing of it. My nephew said she told him that they were low on syrup. Then four all white families sat down around us. Each was given a full bottle of brand new syrup. Wow! I had not experienced the small indignities that black families face each day. So amazing. Normally, I am very pleased with the Boomerang diner on Okmulgee st. In Muskogee. However, don't waste your time going to eat there on Fish night. They are too busy filling to go orders to wait on you when you eat in. The food was good, but the service was terrible. My tea glass had a weird soured smell and I would have just asked for another but no one came to wait on me. I would have asked for more fish but no one cane to ask. When I tried to pay I had to wait until they rang up 5 or 6 orders that were to go. Most of the staff worked on the to go orders instead of the dine in patrons. I rarely review anyone, because I like to be fair and give everyone a break, but this was so very frustrating.
