First and last time going to this restaurant. Ordered a large super nachos, was charged extra for asking for ground beef as the meat of choice for the nachos. When asked about drinks, I asked for coffee was told they didnt have any, was told there was was soda or spirits or water. Didnt define what brand of soda so I asked for Mt. DEW, was told only coke products. The waitress(owner/cook?) seemed to get upset that I am mostly blind and she had to point out the drinks on the menu. Her overall attitude was not friendly. Also attempted to order deep fried ice cream, was told she would see if she had any, but never came back and informed us one way or the other. The super nachos were not super, it consisted of chips, cheese, a sprinkle of green onions and some diced tomatoes, and flavorless ground beef. No beans (black or refried), we got guacamole and sour cream on the side, which was fine. Did get a free refill on my drink, from the other waitress working. Fast forward 12 hours, now I have spent most of my morning sitting on my porcelain throne, feeling like I am prepping for a colonoscopy. Will never go back. Feels like the cook lost their love of cooking and just put some...
Read moreSorry, really not getting the high star reviews. Having lived just North of the Mexican border in a City with a population of 75% Hispanic....I have to say....the food here was poor at best. No fire or authentic taste. It is what I call Oregon Mexican.
The prices are about double what we paid at our old home, and we got way more food, which tastes like it should. It is like people thinking Olive Garden is really Italian, or like Taco Bell is real Mexican.
Mexican meals are mostly rice, beans and sauce, with a little meat...so why such high prices here in Oregon? I sent the menu back home to a few places we ate at all the time. The owners said they were blown away and were going to think about relocating to Oregon. They could make double to tripple what they make at their locations. A combo plate of two items with rice, beans with FREE CHIPS AND SALSA...average 7 to 8 bucks. Real Mexican...compaired to 8 to 14 bucks here in Oregon and your getting nothing like real Mexican Food.
So sorry....the place will not get any more of our business...5 visits was enough.
THE NORTH BEND RESTAURANT HAS VERY GOOD FOOD....I have no idea what went wrong with...
Read moreWe stopped in for dinner at around 7pm. Mexican food sounded good so we found this little place. When we walked in there was one customer waiting for a to go order. Other than that the place was empty except for the waitress. She asked how many and pointed to a table. When we were reading the menu she came by and rudely said "what do you want?" I told her we needed a minute to decide and she literally rolled her eyes and walked away. A few minutes later she came back and aked if we were ready. When we asked about the menu she was very rude and abrupt. We ordered our food and when it came out to us she delivered it like she was still mad or something. BUT... the food was excellent and very flavorful! We enjoyed our meal without her checking up on us or refilling our drinks..but we were ok with not having to put up with her attitude. When we finished up, my wife went to pay the bill and the waitress was extra friendly..like she was trying to make a last ditch effort for a tip. We payed, tipped her anyway and got out of there. My summary is..good food, kind of a rough not real clean atmosphere but if she's there..I...
