I have been eating and rating hamburgers on a scale from one to ten for years . I have had burgers in Montana , Idaho , Nevada , Oregon and California and I have yet to find a 10 in any of the many burger joints I have eaten at in any of the for mentioned state's . Oh I have had good burgers in lots of places ranging from 5 to 9 on the burger scale, 1 through 4 being chain burgers like McDonald's , Wendy's , Burger King , Jack in the box, and Carl jr. And in my travels , only one burger has rated a 9 . That one was at the Shoshone drive in , in Shoshone Id. I have known about star's for years being a local in Eureka but for some reason I have never tried it. Probably because it's not located in the mainstream of Eureka , there for out of sight , out of mind . Well , at the suggestion of my wife who has eaten there before prior to our meeting each other , we went there for lunch yesterday , and ladies and gentlemen , fellow burger lovers everywhere , let me tell you now, I have found a solid 9.5 double bacon cheese burger. Of course these ratings are based on my own likes and dislikes , but I have set such high personal standards on what it takes to make a truly ex so lent burger that my own burgers from my own grill have never rated higher than a 6.5 . The burger that I thoroughly enjoyed yesterday at star's had the perfect balance of meat and vegetables to bun ratio . The meat was not too lean there by producing a dry tasteless burger , but obviously had a higher fat content producing a juicy , run down to yer elbow and puddle on the table hamburger eating experience . As we all know after all, the flavor is in the fat. And the bacon on the burger was so perfectly seasoned it could stand alone in a very tasty blt. I was so impressed on my first visit that I asked the guy working the counter "who cooked the burger and will the same person be on the griddle next Saturday , for I WILL be coming back . " And I absolutely WILL be going back next Saturday and the Saturday after that . If upon my next two visits I find consistency in the quality I was so impressed with on my first visit , the 9.5 rating I give them now will definitely be changed to a solid 10. If the owner of star's hamburgers in Eureka keeps up with the reviews his / her establishment gets , just let me say , don't change a thing , keep up the good work , and thank you for such a delicious hamburger . See you next Saturday ....

Stars Hamburgers in Eureka is a true local favorite and one of the best spots in town if you are craving a classic burger done right. It has that laid back, no frills vibe that makes you feel like you are stepping into a piece of Humboldt tradition. The building itself is simple, but the second you walk in and smell the grill you know you are in the right place. It feels local, it feels real, and it delivers every time.

The burgers are the star here, and they are some of the best you will find anywhere. Fresh patties are grilled to order, juicy and full of flavor, and piled high with toppings that taste fresh and never processed. The buns are toasted just right, the cheese melts perfectly, and the balance of flavors in every bite shows why this place has been loved for so long. You can keep it simple with a cheeseburger or go bigger with bacon, avocado, or one of their specialty builds, and every option hits the spot.

The sides are just as good. The fries come out hot and crisp, the onion rings are golden and crunchy, and everything pairs perfectly with a milkshake that is thick, creamy, and loaded with flavor. It is the kind of old school combo that makes you feel like a kid again while still appreciating the quality that goes into every order.

What I love most about Stars is the consistency. You can go any day of the week, order your favorite burger, and know it will be just as good as the last time. It is comfort food in the best sense, always satisfying and always made fresh.

The service is quick, friendly, and no nonsense. You get your food fast, the staff treat you with respect, and the whole experience is straightforward and enjoyable. It is the kind of spot where you can grab a quick lunch, sit down with family, or stop by late when you just need something hearty and delicious.

Stars Hamburgers is more than just a burger joint, it is part of the fabric of Eureka. It is a place that has fed generations of locals and continues to be a go to spot for anyone who wants a meal that is simple, filling, and full of flavor. Every time I leave, I know I will be back because sometimes nothing hits the spot quite like a burger and...

The food is good enough overall, but their policy regarding phone orders leaves a lot to be desired, which frustrated me personally more than the burger order they messed up for my roommate despite specifically asking about the cheese they left off, or the milkshakes that were watery. Don't expect convenience if you're trying to place an order over the phone. I've never been to a small restaurant like this that refuses phone orders at 6:10pm during business hours but will still let you place an order at 6:29pm if you happen to walk in the door before the close at 6:30pm. Especially in a crumbling economy like Eureka and Humboldt. I've got over a decade of restaurant and food service experience and it's evident that service and fostering community is no longer a priority at this establishment. Instead of taking care of things at home w while they prepared the meal I ordered I had to rush from my home and waste time sitting in their diner waiting for them instead all because of a policy that they're too cheap to eat one or two orders that someone might not pick up once in a blue moon. And if people not coming in to pick up their food after close is happening so frequently that they need to cut off phone orders after a certain time during their business hours, maybe you need to reevaluate your food. It's good enough for me, but the reviews here state that it's not good enough for others. Take the hint, do better, be better. There's a thousand ways to remedy this problem instead of alienating someone who had recently come to enjoy dining there but definitely won't be continuing to....

I stopped by this very popular hamburger place for lunch after visiting the Clarke Museum. It was busy and I had to wait a few minutes to place my order at the counter. The menu has milkshakes, salads, hot sandwiches, and local grass fed hamburgers. I ordered the grilled chicken pita sandwich with no cheese, french fries, and iced tea to go. The dining room is small with interesting artwork on the walls, and a black and white checkerboard floor. It took about twenty minutes for my order and I drove to Su Meg State Park at Patrick's Point to eat it. The chicken had good taste to it and was not over cooked. Located on Harrison Avenue across from General Hospital in Eureka. A nice place to stop for lunch in a classic burger place with friendly service, a menu with a number of options, and fun theme to it.

The kids were asking for a burger on our trip through the redwoods. What a find! This is not one of those places where they try and compensate for a lack of flavor by giving you a huge mountain of a burger and hope you don't notice the flavor got left out. The burgers are a perfect size, packed with flavorful ingredients. My wife and I shared a side salad, and she commented that even their tomatoes were very flavorful. On the way out the door, I saw that they locally source most of their ingredients, including their beef and tomatoes. I can see why they've won best burger in town for over 30 years. Our kids definitely left satisfied.

I Have been Going to Stars Hamburgers for many years. By Far the Best Burger's ,Shakes Fry's in Town. Excellent Service. Friendly Staff . Fresh Burger's also. Great Sauce. They make them anyway you like them. Ray knows his Business. They can take care of a FootBall Team or just you.. I am a fan of the DBL Burger with Pepper Jack Cheese and Ortega Chile. They make it the best. I work all over eat out a lot.I find it just to be a fantastic burger. Always consistent.. I highly recommend STARS !!
